some things just tickle my funny bone.
i was driving this morning and the guy behind me was dancing in his car to the beat of the song that i believe we both were listening to on the radio.
he was goin' to town!.
I hope this works, it relates to another post about rodeo monkeys:

Hello,
Quick background: I'm 47, married with two boys one in and the other out of college
Since Sept. 08 I have:
1), lost my Mother, dad is still living across the country.
2), one of my son's had several seizures, medically no reason can be found ( they think it might just be stress. He recently graduated with a bachelors degree in computer animation but except for freelancing, there is nothing out there right now. So he is still living at home.)
3) Dissasociated myself (along with my wife) from the JW's. Its a long story!
4), youngest son is still trying to decide what to do in college, he does not like living at home, but since he has no job he cannot afford to live on his own.
Suddenly I find myself having lost almost all desire to do anything.
When my kids were younger i would always be doing some project with them, it really kept me focused. Now that they are grown it seems there is not much I find interesting anymore.
I recently heard a comment taken from the latest Indiana jones movie, " you reach an age where life stops giving you things and it starts to take them away" good grief, I feel that this so so true right now. The JW mindset that everything should wrap around the hope for the future is still nagging me (just a little bit) so I'm working on overcoming this.
My wife just loves searching other religions, but I'm really not at that point yet.
I have written several stories that have been published, but I just cannot get in the "groove' for this lately
i would really appreciate any comments you have regarding dealing with mid-life and the crisis that sometimes comes along with it
bahbuttons said: another time i accidently told a kid god bless you in the kh and you'd think i just said every swear word known to man with the looks i got from everyone....another embaressing moment that was.............fond memories eh,lolquoteendquoteeend.
th is an interesting point.
apostates always bang on about watchtower double speak and the way the society twists words, investing them with mind-control triggers but rarely do we hear about censorship by omission, the words jw's can't speak.
milf ?
i was just reading a story about them on the BBC:
the Moro Islamic Liberation Front
this is really bad.
hurl alert!!.
can we spot a lost sheep?.
yes,
this is part of the reason my wife and i are no longer JW's.
we had a bible study women who collected all the qaurter left bottles of coke and would "recycle" them into one bottle.
a couple we studied with would give us coffee with lipstick on the cup after removing the cigrette buts and a quick rinse!
a study gave me a glass of water which was brownish looking....tasted awful.
we had a study with a guy that had an older dog that would pee on his furniture.
The smell was awful!
One night we went for the study and there was a large garbage bag in the back of his house, once in a while I noticed the bag sort of
"balloon out" and then go down.
Well after the study I asked where his dog was, and he replied:
"oh it died three days ago, and I put it in that garbage bag, I'll bury it this weekend"
i never asked, and i never went back
i havn't posted in quite a while.. i thought we could move on.. .but my 8 year old is the most incredbly hurt brokenhearted girl by having her life-long friend ripped away by us leaving the organization.
i tried to leave quietly, we're not dfed or anything... but her mother, my former best friend will not let the girls talk.. write.. contact ... period.
my daughter is still crying all the time.
Another interesting thing that I have noticed is that JW kids will really be bold and completely honest when they
leave the religion.
There is a group from my old hall that really are the epitome of people who really are stuck in a 'time-freeze'
without any realization of acting like a grown-up.
These people may sound and look like typical myspace accounts, but their parents are really hard-nosed witnesses.
They really took a u-turn at the corner of witness living and worldly life!!

i sooooo want to see that movie!!!
thats where i was headed but they were sold out and i ended up seeing tdtess.. looks like classic growling snarling eastwood..
Saw it last night and it was a great movie.
Slanted a little bit toward an older audience, quite "politically incorrect"
The scene where he takes his the neighbor boy to the barbershop is just classic, I laughed and laughed !!
Oh yea!
When I was in HS, several kids and myself got dressed up one Halloween and went to the home of a real
jerk of a JW.
We knocked, knocked, and knocked,,, finally he answered and without looking at us he said "we don't celebrate this
holiday" and shut the door.
Every 5-10 minutes we changed the group, and kept going up to the door knocking.
The funny part is that they lived in a somewhat solitary area, why were all these kids coming tonight??
Sounds quite stupid and immature now, but it was great fun back in the late 70's
according to the feb 2009 kingdumb misery, this is the title of the new hounder-hounder talks for public talks starting march 1. now, i can only imagine worldly fantasies include having a family, a reasonable measure of health and security, and being able to live a decent life.
kingdumb reality means throwing your life away out in field circus, attending boasting sessions, dutifully studying washtowel publications every tuesday all evening, and dying stagnant and having produced zero value in your own life.
"It has been very eye-opening to me to meet so many non-witnesses that have high moral standards. Most are not the sex-crazed, drug-taken, alcoholic, pill-popping maniacs we are taught to believe"
Most of the sex crazed, drug taking, alcoholic, pill popping maniacs I know still attend the kingdom hall.
for years as a jw i believed that christmas and everything associated with it was bad.
but lately i have been looking at different beliefs, and reading books of the bible in their entirety (not just convenient verses).
i was amazed at the way bible stories taught by the jw's change when the entire chapter is read !

One of my favorites lately is the birth of Jesus, ALWAYS the "wrong" beliefs of the world seemed to be highlighted when this story was discussed at the hall, or in smaller groups, celebrating the birth is wrong,,,,
yet while looking at the watchtower site this evening I ran across the verses posted below :
Luke 2:8-14 describes what followed: "There were also in that same country shepherds living out of doors and keeping watches in the night over their flocks. And suddenly Jehovah's angel stood by them, and Jehovah's glory gleamed around them, and they became very fearful. But the angel said to them: 'Have no fear, for, look! I am declaring to you good news of a great joy that all the people will have, because there was born to you today a Savior, who is Christ the Lord, in David's city. And this is a sign for you: you will find an infant bound in cloth bands and lying in a manger.' And suddenly there came to be with the angel a multitude of the heavenly army, praising God and saying: 'Glory in the heights above to God, and upon earth peace among men of goodwill.'"
The angels celebrated and were happy, who dictates that people here on earth are wrong and will not receive Gods favor if they
imitate the angels?
