One time about 10 years ago, this brother moved into my hall.marriage status: divorced. He would only do side cleaning jobs and aux, pioneer so that his child support payments would be minimal ( he actually told several people and myself these little facts!) And boy, was he a smooth operator, made the moves on ALL the single, divorced, and "having trouble in their marriage" attractive sisters. One time he was actually holding the hand of one sister at the book study, telling her that she should study with him to help "encourage" her. That was the straw that broke the camels back for me! He attended the book study I was assigned to at a time when I was really attempting to reach out. After seeing him hit on the sisters, I basically got tired of his BS and spoke to the elders about what he was doing, and his reasons for aux. pioneering. I was very calm, and let them know the facts, and had two other persons who saw him in action, and heard his story. Well the CO came three weeks later, and guess what? He was appointed an MS !!! And the thing that really got me starting to doubt that this was Gods "organization", One of the elders I had talked to earlier, made it very obvious to look directly at me when he was reading the "big" announcement that night. Talk about feeling humiliated. Anyway he ended up getting remarried, and his wife died of a drug overdose several years later. Then he very quickly goes out,remarries,and becomes an elder.Then during the next session he started having major parts on the CA and DA. Last year when I went to the CA to make an appearance one day, I only saw his current wife ( lets see here,,I think she was #3) and he was nowhere to be seen. In fact now that I realize it, it seems that he totally vanished. Appointed directly by Gods spirit? I don't think so.

we will be going home for a vacation soon after many years.
we're faders and most of our jw relatives have adopted a don't ask-don't tell policy about our decision and we are perfectly fine with it.

my opinion is to pull the tag team over to one side when you all arrive.
Tell them in respectful terms that you do not want them talking to the children about
ANYTHING related to the JW's.
You and your spouse are raising the children the way you see best, throw out
Ephesians 6:1 ( Children be obedient to your parents in union with the lord)
or
1 John 5:21, (little children, guard yourselves from idols)
Hopefully they will get the hint and leave them alone. -

Elder's WIFE in college!
by hardhearted ini bet this is different than a minor child in college... i can only hope that the new information from the co will cause a lot of jw's and elders to scratch their heads and consider what exactly is going on here.
if this information causes an exodus of elders... that is very good.

No Emotion at Funerals

several years ago I traveled over three hours each way to attend the funeral of a good friend. The CO gave the talk, and I was just astounded at the way that the whole talk was an info-commercial for the JW's. The person who died was just an after thought.

I also heard an interesting comment last week.
An elders son who recently graduated from HS was offered a complete scholarship to a well known Illinois University's medical school.
He turned it down and the reason he did this was because he might have to order blood transfusions for patients,( so,, he would rather pioneer! )
After reading all the posts regarding higher education, I am beginning to understand that his parents no doubt guided him away from college, and to look toward pioneering.
The kid is very bright, but I wonder how long he will put up with this BS over the years.
What as total waste of a young mind, it sickens me to see people ( dad is an elder, mom is a pioneer) put their positions in this religion above their childrens welfare !!
