You start to believe the Trinity Doctrine!

ok... you know the drill... .
- everyone you spoke to in chat last night appears in your dreams, having the same conversation as you did while in chat and on the threads.. - you add your screenname to the end of all emails, including business ones.. - you hit the refresh button on the active topcs page more than 3 times in one minute.. - you shout "apostate bastard!
" at the driver who just cut you off.. .
You start to believe the Trinity Doctrine!

in looking to refute that silly excuse given by the watchtower as to why it joined the un as an ngo, i found two instances of the jw ngo representatives rolling in the hay with the ol' whore.
here is one... (assuming my paste works)

"In respect of the refusal of blood transfusion, the applicant association submits that while this is part of the religious doctrine of Jehovah's Witnesses, its acceptance depends on the personal choice of the individual concerned. There are no religious sanctions for a Jehovah's Witness who chooses to accept blood transfusion. Therefore, the fact that the religious doctrine of Jehovah's Witnesses is against blood transfusion cannot amount to a threat to "public health", every individual being free in his or her choice. "
Is forcible Dissassociation against someone?s wishes, not classed as a religious sanction?

do you ever wonder why jw's are the most ridiculed?
they are made fun of more than any other religion.
it makes me think about jesus and how he was persecuted and ridiculed for being righteous.
2 + 2
Remember how hard it was not to sing The Pledge of Allegiance, make a Valentine's Card in class, eat Christmas cookies, …….., drink, curse,
You think it’s quite good then to make up your own rules, praise yourself for sticking to them when nobody but you has them and then condemn others for not sticking to the rules that you have made up for yourself?

i have been lurking for a few days and wanted to ask a question.
i stumbled on this website because i have an aquaintance who is a jw and i wanted to learn more about this religion.. first off, let me say that i am a christian.. my question is this: in reading a lot of posts, i see that many of you have left the religion because you believe the wbts has not been truthful in their interpretation of scriptures and because of their incorrect prophecies.
but it seems many of you still believe that they were correct in their belief that the trinity is totally a wrong teaching.
My own observation here over the past couple of years is that many, if not most, ex-JW’s who continue as Christians retain a lot of the Societies interpretation of the Bible. Not all retain the same bits of that interpretation but I would say that most do retain much of it.

well i went last night...........did anyone else notice how the talk focused almost exclusively on the 144,000???
jesus was barely mentioned.
the first couple of minutes talked about when the israelites left egypt and the passover was instituted.
Sorry Neonmadman, I don’t see anything that says Jesus asked anyone to remember His death. The way I read it it says:
"And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me."
It does not say "in remembrance of my death". Jesus did not even add "once a year only". His statements did not even imply the things that JW’s attribute to Him.

patio,
But Jesus is recorded saying to do the Last Supper as a commemoration of his death
I don't seem to be able to find this account in my Bible, can you provide a reference?

for those of you who watch what you eat... here's the final word on nutrition and health.
it's a relief to know the truth after all those conflicting medical studies:the japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than the british or americans.mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than the british or americans.the japanese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than the british or americans.italians drink excessive amounts of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than the british or americans.germans drink a lot of beers and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than the british or americans.. conclusion: .
eat and drink what you like; speaking english is apparently what kills you.
Hi FIL,
I can understand too much stress and excessive pollution but how is sleep a factor in negative health?

i have recently come to realise that although i am acquainted with a few hundred jehovahs witnesses, i do not know of any who "came into the truth" who are fully qualified and working full time in the following areas: historian, archaeologist, astronomer, psychologist, psychiatrist or any closely related subject that requires education to degree level.. i appreciate that jws do not encourage education to degree level and because i live in a university town i am more likely to know "worldly people" in all of the above professions.. of the jws that i know who are educated to degree level and working in a profession related to their training, one is an engineer and three are in art subjects.. it is interesting that the professions that i have mentioned above are all ones in which "the truth" could not be accepted by any qualified person who properly investigated the claims of the society.
on the other hand the two historians, the archaeologist and the astronomer that i know, are all regular church-goers (not all the same denomination) and consider themselves christians.. can anyone on the board contradict my experience?
it seems to me that it makes a point.. link

how dumb are some companies?.
imagine the scene ... you are going to put up a building and you have to decide how to label the floors.
now, the logical and sensible thing to do would be to use the method that the rest of the world does and use numbers (ignore for a moment the us / uk discrepency with 1st & ground floor).. what does this company do?
I once lived in an emerging third world country where the new local Air Force was being trained to fly some light aircraft. Following a crash one pilot was asked why he was trying to fly the aeroplane with no fuel in the tank.
"Impossible", he said, "there must have been fuel. The needle was on ‘E’ when I checked the gauge and I know that the ‘E’ stands for Enough and the ‘F’ for finished"!

when jesus was about to die, he showed who his superior was by praying: "father, if you wish, remove this cup from me.
the one god is eternal (has always existed and always will), immortal (his divine nature cannot die), omnipotent (all-powerful), omniscient (all-knowing), omnipresent (he is everywhere at the same time), god is the only one who can read human hearts and minds, god cannot sin and cannot lie, god does not change his morals or his nature.
the trinity is not one person revealed three different ways (this is what "oneness pentecostals" believe).
UnDisfellowshipped,
I do not want to appear argumentative because even though I may never agree with you, I at least want to understand how you reach the conclusions that you do.You said in part:
Here are the things that, according to what I have read in the Bible, a person must believe in order to be Born Again and Saved:
* That Jesus is the Christ [Messiah], The Son of God, The Lord, your personal Savior, and the Eternal "I AM" [Jehovah].
You appear to mean that in order to be a Christian a person must believe that all the above are one (i.e. the Trinity) and then you go on to say:
The evil-doer on the cross next to Jesus was saved, and he may not have had a real good understanding of the Trinity, but he did put faith in Jesus as The Lord and as King and as Christ and as his Savior.
And:
Notice a couple of things:
- That evil-doer, when dying, prayed to Jesus, not to God The Father (just as Stephen also did later in Acts Chapter 7).
* That evil-doer was Born Again and Saved without doing ANY "good works", not even being baptized!
Is this information not a bit contradictory, or am I just being picky?
