just got back from a wonderful reunion with all the exjws ...pennsylvania.

I know it's a way to record sound and maybe video (?) on a device smaller than a disc, but I have no idea what they look like.

Heh, you guys are funny. They don't "look like" anything because they're just a file format. It's a way of compressing sound by removing all but the most audible sounds. Maybe you're thinking of an MP3 player, which is an actual physical device that usually looks something like an iPhone. Which basically looks like a small square with a screen on the front.

Can't wait to get old and drive my grandkids crazy by mangling up all their language about virtual reality internet brain screen gaming neural network port newfangled thingmabobbers or whatever we have 60 years from now.

I ran into some other JW's Sunday and you wouldn't believe what happened...

well, a jw couple that still like to hang around even though i haven't attended a meeting since february invited the jw wifey and i to lunch.

we decided to go to a popular restaurant in the neighboring town.

we went right after their meeting was over.

Billy, maybe this one hit a nerve with you but you really have to take a look at next weeks. There's a certain group of paragraphs in there which contain such a bold two-faced double timing hypocritical lie that when I first read it, I actually ate my Billy-approved tin foil hat. It left a better taste in my mouth than the study article did. I'll let you find the statement in question for yourself. Happy hunting!

Lately they've really been churning out the crap. Ever since the Generation change it seems the articles have been getting progressively less Biblical and more "we're the org, you do what we say and never mind about what that rotten old Bible says."

think of a computer, the hardware is fine, but somebody changed all of the programming so that 2+2=5.

you go into your spreadsheet and everything looks odd.

you check it using the calculator function and get the same answers.

Being an ex-JW is like running Linux. You have access to all the source code and can change whatever you please, believe anything you like. Even though there are already 300+ beliefs (distributions) already, you can always start another one just to support that little thing you disagree with in all the others, even though you may abandon that belief 6 months later. You can form small online communities and have pointless religious disagreements with other communities just because you feel like it. You can even disagree with God (Linus Torvalds) and he wont strike you down dead. The downside of running Linux will be that you will be shunned by all your former friends (Windows programs) and you will have to say goodbye to them. Even though you will be able to find replacements (open source software) for most of them you will still occasionally miss the best friends you once had.

Update: I got a new job!

in my last post, i mentioned how i basically had a foot in the door for an hvac job with pretty good benefits although it was for $2 less per hour.

today, i got a call back from a job i interviewed for about two months ago.

the job is for $2 more per hour than what i'm making, company vehicle, 3 weeks vacation on start, a blackberry, and it's somewhat related to the electronics field... i'll be fixing electric wheelchairs :) .

Great! I just got my first paycheque on my new job. It's a good feeling. Now I better stop posting and get back to work so I can keep the job!

Wifes parents want to visit.

i thought it was because they did not approve that we did not have anything to with the dubbers.

we visited her sister and now they want to visit us.
