  we have a bigg artikel in km abot our wuie on how to treat them in diffrent situations, not so much new things, but they confirm this harder treatment on dfd, as we have 1981.. not so happy for this, i think it is a bigg misstake to dont take this occasion to change to some more loving wuie.i can not follow why they do like this perhaps they are draw this to the end of the lione, but who are take the punnish for this, if not the averge jw, who i think dont like this so very much.. so i can not follow who they think, perhaps we have wolfs among us, who hurt ther members.. .

Jesus' hearers well knew that the Jews of that day had no fraternization with Gentiles and that they shunned tax collectors as outcasts. Jesus was thus instructing his followers not to associate with expelled ones."

  A good friend of mine countered this thinking with the thought that one of the criticisms the Pharisees had of Jesus was that he "eats with tax collectors and sinners." So was Jesus really saying to treat such a person the way the Pharisees would treat them? Shouldn't we as Christians be following Jesus' example in this case also? He must have frequently eaten with sinners, tax collector's, etc. in order to encourage them to leave their "sinful" way of life. He apparently did not shun them.

  The GB is certainly ignoring the fact that in many cases shunning of family members and friends does NOT lead to them returning to the organization, but rather to suicide or severe mental distress. I certainly know that this is true in my case when recently both my mother and sister decided that since I was no longer interested in the "truth" that they would not have anything else to do with me...and this even though I am neither disfellowshipped or disassociated. That has only strengthened my resolve to stay as far away as possible from this cultist organization but has also increased the depression that I have suffered from since my teen years.

  I believe it all to be nothing more than HOGWASH (whatever that may be!)

  Can You See The Similarities?

  i have done a little research and reading over the years on the holocaust and what the jewish people went through when they were judged as unworthy as humans and so many innocents were exterminated in hitler's "final solution".

  i recently read this quote from a book about women in auschwitz and i couldn't help but see so many similarities between the way the jews were treated and how the witnesses treat those they feel are "rebellious" or causing division or whatever other accusations they can drum up against those they want to be rid of.

  i believe any of us who have been shunned by friends and families can relate to how eerily (spelling?

  I am just beginning to understand this after over 4 decades in the organization Nowfree. Those that I felt I had the closest bonds to just disappeared as soon as there was any "whiff" of discord against the elders on our part. Though my husband and I are neither disfellowshipped or da'd...we are treated like lepers by those we happen to meet. Even my own mother and dear sister have joined in the shunning...only because we had enough courage to go against two bodies of elders.

  Hitler wanted to rid himself of those who disagreed with his "world view" and so do the witnesses. Otherwise why would they be preaching the destruction of most of the world and the "saving" of only witnesses into a new system of things? I am quite ashamed that for all those years I thought as they did. How freeing to finally know as you stated Nowfree...that TRUE, UNCONDITIONAL friendship really only exists outside of this organization.

I recently read this quote from a book about women in Auschwitz and I couldn't help but see so many similarities between the way the Jews were treated and how the witnesses treat those they feel are "rebellious" or causing division or whatever other accusations they can drum up against those they want to be rid of. I believe any of us who have been shunned by friends and families can relate to how eerily (spelling?) this corresponds with the rigid and unloving way those who disagree with the "Society" are treated. (Though we cannot fully realize the ultimate horror that the Jews experienced at Nazi hands...some of the treatment handed out by witnesses can also result in severe trauma and what I refer to as PTWSD...Post Traumatic Witness Stress Disorder.")

  Fritzies first recollection of the effects of occupation was of her schoolteacher denying her access to her continued education. The teacher told Fritzie that she was no longer allowed to attend the school because she was Jewish.

  A teacher who was my teacher who took out a white handkerchief from his pocket the week before to wipe a smudge off my face, turned to me one day and told me I must not come to school anymore. Within a days time, Jews were labeled as different, inferior, and in need of segregation and regulation. The government established rules for access to educational institutions, time limits for shopping or walking on public streets or working, bans for sitting on public benches, and mandates for wearing a yellow star to indicate that one was Jewish. Each day brought about another legislated rule, another edict, or a new law to restrict freedom and dignity.

  If someone came toward someone who was not a Jew, the Jew needed to step off the sidewalk to allow the next person who of course was not Jewish to walk by. I recall our neighbors turning their backs on us. Spitting on us. Neighbors who lived in peace with us, who were our friends the week before.

  In March 1944 the Jews were told to gather their belongings for relocation in a ghetto in their own town. They quickly realized they had mistakenly believed the lies of those they had trusted. Though hopeful they would be relocated in a safe place, they soon realized that their fate led to imprisonment. I will never understand how one human neighbor, a friend can turn against you, a person who has lived with you in peace, who watched you being born, who has gone to school with you, who knows your family and knows your life history but, nevertheless, that's what they did.

  my sister's future in-laws are threatening that no one will come to their wedding if they don't have it in the kingdom hall.. (we're the reason they can't have it in the hall.

  the soon-to-be newlyweds want us to be in the wedding, plus we're shelling out some major cash for it.).

  don't you just love the jw sense of brotherhood?

  The people invited to a wedding should be the ones who truly and unconditionally love the couple getting married. If some do not want to attend because of the myriad of rules and regulations put out by the (b)org then I say GOOD RIDDANCE.

  My son's wedding was boycotted by all elders & wives and ms's and wives and many others who followed their lead after a surprise "marking" talk only two days before his wedding. (He was marrying an "unbaptized publisher" who grew up as a jw.) We had the wedding at the local Holiday Inn and the reception there too. My husband married them as no elder would have and we didn't ask them too.

  It was one of the best weddings I ever attended because we knew that the people there truly loved our son and new daughter.

  The whole situation was the final blow that sent us out of this unloving, judgmental and cruel organization. (They were married in 1999...they are still "shunned" to this very day.)

  I hope you don't let them control the situation. If some don't want to attend; well...to hell with them!

  This would not work with our elders. They all have unlisted numbers. Using a psychic hot line (hello? Miss Cleo?) would probably get you farther than trying to talk with our elders.

  cisis of consience and christian freedom they should be here by christmas (a gift to myself ,first one in 7 years)..im celebrating christmas this year, havent been to the kingdom hall in a month and a half and i feel real good about it!

  i do belive im going to read these books and give myself a real gift the big d.a.!

  Well...I can probably apply all most all of those reasons for staying put in the organization for so long Victor_E!

  But a few years ago I would have read those and thought that they were a lot of B.S!

  I especially liked reason #4 about the "zoo animal that prefers to stay in the cage that he is transported in instead of venturing out into unknown territory."

  Growing up and being in the organization for over 40 years is definately like being in a very small cage. The world outside my cage looks awfully scary...but I'm trying to leave that cage behind for good.

  no big deal, but ciro who was one of the ones who originally wanted to be an ngo decided to take it upon himself and publicy apologize to his congregation in nyc for getting the organization involved in this mess.... this was not approved by brooklyn bethel.. talk about a dope!

  Mr. Aulicino is what is known as a "closet liberal" in my opinion. Knowing him personally...he talks one way when he's outside of Bethel and talks another (probably) when he's "in residence". I think he and his wife are "lifers" at Bethel. I sincerely doubt that he would do anything to endanger his "retirement" as an active Bethelite.

  my son and daughter from my previous marriage have just been kicked in the teeth by witness teaching.

  they have never ever been jws, which makes it worse imo.. they have just been dumped by their jw grandfather, dumped by their uncle, dumped by their aunt.

  when my dfd ex-wife lost her mother a couple of years back, her jw sisters and brother decided to put a stop to my exs alienation.

  Well...so much for letting your yes mean yes and your no mean no.

  I'm so sorry Englishman. Our family is currently going through this same "sifting" of true friends. We just keep checking people off our list who refuse or are hesitant to associate with us. It is really hard after over 4 decades as jw's.

  What a load of crap!
