  If The Bible Is The Word Of God...

  many here have abandoned the bible as "the word of god" and there are numerous reasons for said abandonment.

  however what i am interested in finding out is if the bible is the word of god, then what would you expect to find?.

  hi stan jesus was an apostate? He himself was without sin so didn't break any law but he was the messiah and so fulfilled the covenant. He was only an apostate if the jews could prove he wasn't the foretold messiah. I think this really all boils down to whether you believe the witnesses are the true religion that is following God with accuracy of teaching in regards to scripture atm so people can be apostates to them. but like i said that is a different issue.   Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions regarding "attention seekers"?

  we all love it when people pay attention to us or our opinions.

  but what i am talking about is people who crave and force attention from others.

  not just people who talk a lot, but those that force everyone around them to focus on them and them only.. in one of my classes there is a woman who raises her hand to ask a question, but never really has a question to ask.

  I have look at a few sites, yes set Jw sites are closed to only Jw's and yes ex-Jw sites are closed site only for ex- or anti-Jws. The problem is this site is sitting on the fense so to speak. Even it's official name invites the perception that witnesses will be on it to talk to and get a witness pespective. Simon knows this and in the early days the intention of this site was for Jehovah's witnesses but to allow all opinions.

  I'll be honest most pro-witnesses are put off by this site simply because you have to deal with constant personal attacks outside of your viewpoints. I just ignore them since I think that is a kind of attention seeking they want. People like Mary, isaac and outlaw add very little to debates other than to character assasinate me, is that good for these forums? Am I to blame because they want to keep drawing personal attention to me just because I do not agree with them?

  Hmmm I've been thinking on this thread and how can we ignore the definition of apostate in the hebrew scriptures? Stan conroy makes the same point. early christians as did Jesus clearly used the hebrew scriptures as a source of direction even they felt they were no longer under certain requirements of the law.

  Does the greek scriptures replace the hebrew scriptures as to make them obsolete? For giliead point to work Jws are wrong for going to hebrew scriptures for a definition of apostasy which isn't a proved point biblically.

  you are just proving my point, the condemnation is my pro-Jw stance admidst a majority of anti-witnesses by your own words.

  Simon could easily ban me from this site, but he doesn't why?

  Because he wants this forum to air both sides.

  If you and others cannot handle the freedom simon allows why not choose an openly ex-Jw forum which would ban me for my pro-Jw stance? rather than whine about my viewpoints that simon allows?

  In the past 20 years, have you seen a balanced, educated adult not raised by JW parents get baptized as a JW?

  i am not criticizing those who have gone through depression or a traumatic experience.

  nor am i criticizing those who were raised as a witness as i was.. but i am curious to know if any of you have seen a person from the territory, not a relative of a witness, no recent tragedies or emotional problems, not a young runaway, not a drug user, but an educated adult who began a study with jehovah's witnesses, and eventually got baptized.. when i was a missionary, i met a gilead couple who had been in their assignment for 19 years.

  i asked them about that.
