This scripture shows YHWH is the one True God. Jesus himself affirms this very scripture.

Mark 12:28-29 (New International Version)

28 One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, "Of all the commandments, which is the most important?"

29 "The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. [a]

If Jesus himself affirms that his father YHWH is the One God to try and put that on Jesus is against Jesus's own wishes and more importantly his belief.

those of you who are still christians, do any of you now believe jesus is god?.

We have 34,000 Christian denominations and growing. The majority think Jesus is somehow Almighty God. In past history any desenting opinion to a triune God was heavily censored by torture, execution, burning of documents, keeping the bible for only a select few to read and even war.

Men like Sir isaac Newton who believed in one God and that Jesus was his actual son had to keep their viewpoints hidden, secret papers after sir isaac Newton's death were found showing he One God believer in the father. And certainly trinity was not taught by the first century christians as a term or a doctrinal concept it is also completely absent from the bible itself.

the first expression of trinity itself appeared in later centuries and had people believing 'wisdom' was the third part of the trinity it got changed to holy ghost later.

Look up arian beliefs for early some followers of One God belief.

an 82-year-old man who entered a meeting of jehovahs witnesses armed with a submachine gun, three magazines, a samurai sword and a knife has been arrested, bielefeld police reported on friday.. some 81 members of the church were gathered in their kingdom hall on dunlopstrae in the citys sennestadt district when a congregation member noticed the masked elderly man enter the vestibule waving the machine gun around 8:45 pm on thursday.. .

the witness quietly informed the congregation and directed them to escape the building via emergency exit, a police statement said.. .

Their is no excuse for this level of violence it is purely on the person doing it and in this case their mental health IMO. OR are we saying that in certain circumstances a non-violent action can rightly inspire violence from someone else?

Also it is easier to redirect anger to something we feel justified in hating. It is assuming things as Cog says on the very little information given when he could easily have some undying mental illness which at 82 is quite a possible.

I am very glad the witnesses acted quietly and sensibly avoiding what could have been quite horrific and in this case I hope the man gets the professional help he needs and lack of opportunity to ever attampt something like this again.

People like structure and motivational goals it serves a purpose. The bible clearly shows the end will not come until the entire inhabited earth has heard the message. We have a God directed work to do and the practicalities of doing is left upto the congregation overseers.

Matthew 24:14
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

Do/did you like to read Daily Text?

i hated it.

we actually never really did.. once, on vacations, we were with another family, they prepared food on the table for breakfast .... and then nobody could touch it for some 15 minutes, when daddy was reading daily text and asking childish questions ... family members were raising hands and answering .... we all were hungry... watching the food ... and hoping it will soon be over (i dont mean armageddon, i mean daily text...) i felt just like an idiot..... albert.

I enjoyed and liked the daily text it ususally spot on with the scriptures thought and usually led me to reading a chapter of the bible.

i have struggled with this concept for quite some time.

i feel like the apostle paul in that he wishes to do right by god in controling this issue, but find it to be a law exercising complete control over him.

i find myself wondering what is the use in doing so?

We are all sinners. it's hard to be constantly battling sinful inclination. One scripture that comforts me is this one.

Luke 18:9-14 (New International Version)

Jehovah himself knows it is hard for us and loves us more for it.

JW Defenders- Is WTS Right to Insist You Stay Away From these Websites?

i read these threads and there are a few that bend over backwards to say why wts is correct on this issue or that issue.. they act like typical jw's that refuse to acknowledge points that may show that wts is not following the scriptures or that wts goes beyond the scriptures in a way that is not supported by others.. the point could be the blood issue or shunning or whether 1799 or 1914 was the start (or finish?

) of the last days or whether there is a faithful and discreet slave class or not.

i don't want to harp on each point.

i am looking for any references regarding the existence or (even better) the non-existence of a first century council / governing body in old watchtower publications.

it would most likely center on acts 14 and 15.. many of us have heard the fred franz recording about how there was no such body in the first century.

The hatred on here towards witnesses that is just blind predjudice truly scares me.

If any of you have not gone beyond reason into blind predjudice look at stats that are not just fed to you by this site and silent lambs and see that this is a world-wide promblem and making witnesses the scapegoat will not change this.

I feel for your pain whitedove but I know the evil very well of the men that do these acts and they should be the ones in prison and never let near children again.
