I take it that you are not trolling. One possibility is that you have been throughly brainwashed and blinded by JW's. Hang on this forum for a while and you might change your views. As a consequence you may find yourself even happier man than today.
Most if not all rank and file JW's are sincere and honest it is just the organization that is corrupt.

i grew up in the borg, and had my share of friendships.
i've noticed something, though, since i've been out.. i have many more real friends than i ever did as a dub.

You made a good note there. When looking back the years with JW's it is easy to remember this never ending flood of "do not stumble even the weakest"-type of repeated advice. Then again one cannot have unlimited number of true and genuine best friends. During the years as a JW I cannot recall even a single one that I could have shared my deepest feelings. After I was DF'd I quicly found new friends. It is amongst these people that I still have my closest and truly genuine friends. Looking back I recall the presence of JW's as wearing half a number too small shoes. Being aware that your every word, move and gesture is registered and filed.

for every person, there seem to be things they just don't understand.
for me, it's nationalism in more than homeopathic doses.
i wouldn't have expected to meet that much nationalism on an ex-jw board, but then, life holds many surprises.
One of things surprised me on this forum was this open nationalism and furthermore "kill the bastard"-comments. To me it was not a surprise that behind these comments is mainly people from a specific country.
Here is my contribution:
1) I do not feel that USA would be best for all the people, but for americans yes.
2) I would not compare a country against another as the citizens often have different expectations owing tho the past history and possible hetero-/homogenous origin.
3) Yes, at least more than an average person (see 7).
4) Yes very much so.
5) Public media, reading, ham radio and lately Internet.
6) I am not trying to pretend to be an educated expert and therefore expressing my views as mild as possible when referring to foreign nations.
7) I have been working altogether 2 yrs in Libya, 4 mts in USA, 1 yr in France, 4 mts in UK and 2 mts in Switzerland. And also during 15 years shorter periods around Europe as a service engineer.

Worldwide this would mean a mean cost of one kWh being 0,0342465 cents (US?), just about half what I pay. I have been misled about the cost of electricity around the world if that calculation is true.
