  thanks.. using the 1999 wt cd-rom, i did a search of watchtower articles containing the jw catch-phrase, "thousands are disfellowshipped each year...".

  Yes,I definitely remember hearing those talks from the platform.The last circuit assembly I attended they gave a talk and said "Of the newly baptized each year,1% is disfellowshipped,1% is disassociated,1% drifts away.I am of the latter 1%.

  Were you nervous for your first talk?

  i still remember my first talk pretty vividly.

  i was 8 or 9 at the time, and as a kid that was "born in the truth", it was only natural that i should join the school at that time.

  i remember getting my talk slip a good three months before i was to deliver it, and my talk was prepared a full month before the date (this was the only time i had such advanced preparation.

  I wasn't on the school,although I did serve as householder a few times.The theocratic ministry school is unscriptural.It was made up by Knorr in the 1940s.

  What Do You Like to Collect

  over the years i have had several collections, ranging from louisiana bottles, (this collection was stolen); books relating to la.

  which i donated to a library; books by or about jws, which i gave to another library; a stamp collection, which is at my sister's house.

  my florida related stamps are now on exhibit at the state library of florida.

  for me: 1. the day i cant take care of my bodily functions and am paralyzed from the neck down or 2. when i am 100years old.

  sometimes, the gender of a poster is relatively easy to deduce due to their style of posting, and, dare i say it, their choice of vocabulatory.

  but sometimes it is difficult to know if you are "talking" to a man or a woman (or homosexual).

  Top Five Forbidden Watchtower Subjects

  if you are an 'old timer' and wonder why the watchtower and awake.

  magazines are so bland and lacking in content, it may come as no surprize.

  to you that it's often because a number of topics are 'off limits'.. that is, certain subjects are so troublesome to the watchtower leadership.

  Remember all those articles about JWs being attacked by demons?(Pulling up their night clothes,sexually molesting them,rendering them speechless and unable to walk.)I never see any articles like this anymore.Maybe the demons are nice to them now.
