I know when I was a dub NO ONE in the world could have convinced me they were not God's pepole.Something finally happened that made me see the light.Perhaps your wife will someday see something too.

How do you feel about your JW friends?
by sleepy inhow do you feel about your friends you left behind and in the organisation and who now shun you?
do you feel they are still your friends, and are just doing what they think is right?

One of the reasons I left was because it was such a cold,unfriendly place;no christ-like love.Couldn't be Jesus' true followers.

I noticed when they took a vote in the congregation they never announced the results.I assumed it was because they had already decided what they were going to do and voting was just a formality.Therefore I never raised my hand to vote.

The Society loves its young people
by Omega Man in>do you remember at assemblies when you would hear talks on how the organization loves its young people.
by publishing a book "young people ask" this would be pretty much the extent of what they would do for it's young people.
it would be like a father saying to his kids i love you, here is a book how to live your life and never spend any time with them.

This is something I never understood about the jws.They have no organized youth groups where kids can do things with people their own age.All they're supposed to do is go out in service with adults,sit through five meetings a week,be there for the family study and tend to their own personal study.My son and I attended one congregation for over a year and he never made any friends there.All the youths seemed afraid to approach each other because a lot of them really didn't know each other outside the kingdom hall.I wonder why the society is so against kids getting together and having a good time?Seems like instead of encouraging this sort of thing,they're always cautioning against it .Wonder what they're afraid of?

You have shed some light on a subject I have often wondered about but the witnesses avoid.Never did Jesus one time in the christian Greek scriptures mention the name"Jehovah" and I never heard them address this.Thanks for a good post!

Angelic protection-how does that work again?
by PopeOfEruke inwe read of recent events, 5 jw children killed in a car accident, jw's caught and beheaded and be-tongued (and not necessarily in that order) in the phillipines, a busload of witnesses burnt to death in spain on the way to the district convention (some years back).
and so on and so on..... yet the wt and bible too tell us "have no fear because jehovah and his myriads of angels are watching over us and will protect us.".
well, they do a pretty crappy job at it!

I for one never experienced divine protection from anything bad when I was a dub,even though I heard and read a lot about it.Guess some rate better than others.

I can't stand it when I read stuff like this in the mags.First of all,there are good,honest people in all religions,and it is very BOASTFUL to write crap like this about yourself.If you ask me, it is a turn-off.

My children are grown now but I plan to carve some pumpkins and put them in the front yard and deck out the whole front of the house.I am going to buy one of those huge bowls and fill it with all kinds of candy for little trick-or-treaters.I'm also going to answer the door in costume.Can't wait! It is so good to be part of life again!

Do you feel guilty about bringing people. . .

i fortunately was never able to have a bible study grow all the way to the point of baptism.
but for those of you who did, do you feel guilty about bringing another person into what i think of as a cult?

I never brought anyone into it,thank God.I do ,however feel foolish for trying to convince people it was the truth.Lucky for them,they didn't listen to me.Now I can see why.
