The Best And Worst Accents In The World
by Englishman inwell, obviously we english don't qualify on that score as we simply do not have any accent whatsoever.. but i do like the mid to south us accent, it's very warm and hospitable.
i'm not too keen on the accent of the eastern europeans, it seems harsh and bombastic.
englishman.

My mother (coldhearted JW she is)
by YellowLab inthis is really bothering me, and i have a need to vent.
is it normal for grandparents to not take an active interest in their grandchildren?
my mother is still a dub, and i faded away about seven years ago.

"About Schmidt" slow...
by breeze ini just viewed this film.... "about schmidt" ... this movie is mildly entertaining....it moves very slow and seems to be unfocused completely at times....some times funny.... jack is jack, as always he is good, and kathy bates is ok, nude scene warning...kathies ass....i read reviews that see him as a oscar candidate for this film...that is certainly a stretch !!!!.
howard hessman is in it, and he is very good, but not a big role, i love him from the old cincinnati radio sitcom???.
i give it...3 stars out of five....

Was it normal to have so many meetings?
by JH inhow many meetings a week, do you think we should have had in order to be reasonable and not overdone?
maybe 30 or 40 years ago, when woman didnt work, or when life was a little easier, that all these meetings every 2 days was ok, but today with life being so stressful, and with all the time it takes commuting, is it normal to still have so many meetings.
nothing changed in the last 50 years as far as meetings go.

What was the worst outfit you wore?
by outbackaussie inremember going to conventions during the mid 80's?
sisters all dolled up in lolly-wrapper dresses of sparly taffeta with balloon sleeves and brothers strutting about with shiny grey siuts with narrow lapels and black leather ties?
ooooh what a look that was!

Orange Butterfly
by MrMoe ineveryday, when things get a little hectic, i escape to a little spot outside the school where i work so i can sit, relax, and have a ciggie.
for the last two weeks, every single time i go outside and sit down (enjoying the beautiful cool weather for a change) there has been an orange butterfly that lands on some wildflowers not 2 feet from where i sit.
today, i went outside again, he wasn't there (as usual) and the very moment i sit down, there he comes flying in.

No sunday school for witnesses
by freedom96 ini have had the opportunity to visit a few non-denominational churches since i have left the witnesses.
i have talked to people who attend other ones, and obviously find great differences between those and witnesses.. a huge mistake, among many of course, in my opinion, is that there is no programs for kids.. an infant is expected to make all the meetings.
a toddler is expected to go, and sit still.

Carl Sagan - "The Demon-Haunted World : &q...
by nicolaou incarl sagan.
the demon-haunted world : science as a candle in the dark .
"i worry that, especially as the millennium edges near, pseudoscience and superstition will seem year by year more tempting, the siren song of unreason more sonorous and attractive.
