I've always accepted that they're a racist society. Why didn't the bethelite picture depicts all nationalities.

The Society, Race, and an always white Adam.
by nicolaou inokay, it's an old question but we haven't examined it here yet so let's have your thoughts.. adam was the progenitor of the whole human race, from his genes sprang the negroid, caucasian, mongoloid, indo-european and every other race on the planet.. the hebrew people were not selected as jehovah's chosen nation until abram had found favour with god so presumably all races were equal in his eyes before then [as indeed they always have been].. so then, what basis is there, if any, for deciding what adam and eve's skin colour may have been?.
could they not indeed have been black?.
this is a pointless discussion i grant you.

Holidays

how many of you guys who have been out of the org.
for a while, now celebrate the holidays?

I love the holidays. This past Christmas was the first xmas I openly celebrated and I love it. I had all of the lights, xmas tree, dinner, family and friends, it was beautiful.
I have always celebrated my kids birthdays, because I'm married to a non-jw. And my husband said he would not be denied the joy of seeing his kids celebrate their birthday.
But this year is the first time I'm participating in every holiday. I'm a activity parent for my son's class and I have enjoyed the classroom parties. I'm living through my children, I'm all excited about the activities and they're like ok mom - settle down, it's just a valentine - why all of the tears.
And the best part of all is enjoying the holidays without the guilt

Here's another JW kid gem. A sister told this experience (JW term, lol) in field service about her son - he was around 5 yrs. old. They were visiting Disney World and during their visit it was the year of Mickey Mouse turning 50 year old. The park had an attraction that featured a Birthday Bash for Mickey. And she proudly told us that he was telling the children as they were leaving the attraction, that they were going to die because they were singing Happy Birthday to Mickey. Thankfully we had an outspoken pioneer sister in the car. She told her that she shouldn't tell anybody else that story. She told the sister that was definitely not christian behavior. The mother responded, "I'm very proud of my son taking a stand for Jehovah".

As the others have already expressed, you two are an inspiration to me. One of the characteristics that I find the most appealing in people is Integrity. And by you two providing this site, it shows that you are two people who are TRUE to you beliefs and have taken the time to share with many.
Words cannot express the gratitude that I have for this board. And those cowards who ganged up on you were able to see a true Man, and I hope they took note.

Please keep up your post and don't censor them. This is not a KH, so no one should be stumbled.
I have enjoyed every one of your posts and perceive you to be a very LOVING person. I do not consider myself a christian and I am not looking to become one at the time. But from your post I gather you are what a Christ-like personality would be and what I consider a "true" christian.
And as a co-worker use to say. Jesus Christ was persucuted (sp?), so you know what they are saying about me. lol
