Shelby,
Sorry about your lost, and I hope you find peace.
May i ask? Who is talking to you? What are they saying? And have anyone else expressed concern about these voices being said to you (in the real world, other than JW or people on this board)?
And when you say that your lord told you something, are you meaning literal or through you reading of the scriptures? and if he is talking to you, what does his voice sound like? And what is the purpose of this gift? How are you using it?
These are serious questions. I'm really interested in what you are talking about.
Anewperson,
People who suffer from mental illness, do perform jobs and other daily activities.
reports are coming from the united states that small flags and flag badges are being distributed at schools and other public places.. many are refusing to take a flag and this is causing resentment and hurt feelings.
not wishing to offend, witnesses are asking their elders what they should do.. cheers,.
ozzie.
I don't think we should be forced to show are patriotism. But we should be taught to respect what the men and women who protect us and help provide the freedoms that we share.
I became patriotic in May of this year. My girlfriend flew from Texas to visit and to welcome her 19year old daughter back from her first out to sea voyage on the USS Truman. Even though I had not been in to a KH in 2 years, I was thinking that it was wrong to be in the military. I drove my girlfriend to Norfolk, VA and was so impressed with all of the love and proud faces of the parents who were waiting on the USS Truman to dock. I was brought to tears as I thought about the sacrifice these men, women and children had endured with their loved ones out in the waters for six months to give me (an unappreciated waif) the freedom of thinking the way I was. But what really made me appreciate our military, was when we took the tour of the Truman. Believe me - it was no picnic. The place was huge and you had to climb 2 zillion steps to get to her living quarters where 4 women lived in a closet with bed that remind you of prison. They had to share a shower with about 100 other women. Believe me this was no holiday inn. Then he daughter showed us where she does her duties as a look out person. And she described how dark it is on the water. She is a city girl and I just imagine how she had to adapt to darkness and silence.
Anyhow after this experience, I bought an American flag and I cannot help to to tear up when I hear these partriotic tunes. The 4 of July has a new meaning, the saluting of the American flag.
And to end I thank God, Jehovah, Allah, Budha, and any and all the other Gods, that my children are not being RAISED IN THE TROOTH and can appreciate and respect what our military is doing for us.

william's story .
my mother received a knock at the door when i was 4 years old, that knock would alter the course of my entire life.
it was then, she received what she and millions of others call 'the truth.
William,
I have read your story before and think I have spoken to you on the AOL chat room disfellowshipped JW. I was freed from the tower also by Mary (LifeValue) and look forward to continue to hear from you.

adoption by jehovah's witnesses is blocked .
the independent - united kingdom; may 26, 2001. by brian farmer.
a couple originally approved by a council as adoptive parents have been refused permission by social workers to adopt a child, because they are jehovah's witnesses.
And Largo,
Blood may be sacred, but is it more sacred that LIFE?
If I need blood to preserve my LIFE, I definitely will choose life and not suicide.

In my opinion a JW should NOT be allowed to adopt a child at all. I know personally of an adopted child that was disfellowshipped and with child at the age of 19, the JW mother disowned her and threw her on the streets. Being that her natural parents are dead, this poor young lady fell upon some very bad times. A non witness relative of mine took her in, but her rejected from the only family she has and the only friends she had, is still very hard.
I'm was raised a witness and still have parents who are very zealous active witnesses and I WILL NOT allow them to take my children inside a kingdom hall and have changed my will, so that my parents will not be able to raised them, if something happen to me.
And as far as the mother putting her child up for adoption, this is usually done not because you don't LOVE for your child, but because you want a better life, situation for the child. And even the best intentioned Witness family is not capable of loving this child unconditionally, because of the constraints of the cult in which they serve. I feel raising a child in the JW religion is PURE CHILD ABUSE.

i was wondering what some of you might make of this.
a friend of mine who is still somewhat active just told me about something interesting that happened in his congregation a week or two ago during the wt study.
a publisher raised his hand to comment and related an experience he had while doing magazine work in a parking lot (ugggghhhh!!!
That experience is so ironic. I was approached by two different JW in the parking lot of my job (I work for a major diy (do it yourself) home retailer). When approached the first time i was surprised, because i thought the man approaching me smiling was a customer asking a question, but when I saw his bible tract, I instantly tensed up and told him quickly I'm not interested and tried to get in my car, he came back with what are you not interested in, I replied your bible tract, turned on the ignition (on my car) and told him to have a good day and pulled off. Today a lady approach my with an Awake in her hand and I told her before she could reach me, I was not interested in the JW's, she replied that everything they taught was from the the bible and I replied that was not not true, turned on my ignition and told her to have a good day.
So thanks for the new reply.
P.S. I'm a department manager in this particular store and was thinking about speaking with the store manager about their activities in order to stop them from soliciting in our parking lot, but was thinking it would make them feel happy about being persecuted. Any suggestions on stopping them, because it seems as if our parking lot is a good spot to dump on literature.
as many may know, i'm still a teenager.
i'm not willing to reveal my age, which is one less than 17 or one more than 15. but i just wanted to get your guys' opinion on sex before marriage.
a lot of people here have kinda lost their "watchtower" and biblical standards as i have gathered.
Joelbear,
I have to disagree with you on females waiting until marriage. I think that a female must explore her sexuality and understand her sexuality before committing to a life long partner.
The WTBS and many other fanatical religions have made a wonderful part of the human/animal experience to become something vile.
Your sexuality is something that should be celebrated in a healthy manner. Being if you are and the partner that you choose are both ready for the experience - mentally, emotionally and responsibly.
I am happy to to say as a female - I have enjoyed my sexuality prior to marriage and continue to with my husband. I have no questions about what pleases me, nor am I shy to express my sexuality to my husband.

P.S. I love the responses to this young man and have shared them with my two teenage sons.

I have met a few people whose faith is Bahai. I recently worked with a young lady who was raised in this religion and continue to in this faith. I was impressed with her knowledge of other cultures, religions. And yes community service is very important to their beliefs, as well as education. I don't know all of the particulars of this religion. But I can say, I found my discussion with her very refreshing and have considered looking into this faith a little more.
