I think there is allot more to it than they are willing to say (not like most people don't think they're nuts anyway) but it really is something personal between them and God . I also know that they are instructed to sell all their worldly goods and give gifts of mercy to the poor and as long as they keep seeking first the kingdom and righteousness all their needs will be met and I also feel that the only real ones are martyrs in the end , having to face the final test of getting the ax for their witness to jesus , as mentioned in Revelation . They are the first resurrection that the second death has no authority over.

WTF makes you annointed?
by gloobster inok, so i have a serious question.
probably my first on here, but this has always bugged me, and i've never received a satisfactory answer.. how does someone become annointed?
when i was a child, my grandpa, who was an elder, told me that if you are of the annointed, you just know.

was talking to a witness last night and he mentioned there was some significance to next years memorial in regard to the 1975 date or there about that ended mans six thousand years from creation and now it has something also to do with jesus 33.5 years on earth .

Hope4Others-- There may be replacements but at this point things should be pretty much settled in that area from the WTBTS point of view ,there may be some stragglers left but that would be all speculation on their part as the only requirement for membership is to approve of yourself , you don't need their approval to eat and drink at the "memorial" supper.

Now why would the WTBTS look to josephus for the answer? , he obviously wasn't alive at the time and only had biblical sources to work with and him not being "anointed" wouldn't add anything worth bringing up. I can bet on one thing and that is there will be a record number of people at next years memorial .

phillipus - sounds like the jw was a little confused himself when discussing it with me , he stated that it is all relevant to 1975 being six thousand years and he did mention abrahams test being significant , I'm guessing Isaac can now be considered to have been 33.5 years old during that episode? , he also went on that jewish men were not considered adults until they reach 30yrs. of age according to mosaic law of which I don't recall where it is at .Anyway all info is welcome . I would be surprised if the WTBTS used material from the "apostate" religionists .

He was going on about allot of stuff such as drawing parallels to adam being 33.5 when he sinned and jesus being 33.5 when he died for sins. (there's no way of knowing how old adam was)That's allot of speculation going on and I thought the WTBTS warned them against speculation and they will get their info strictly from the org. I personally don't have a problem with people giving opinions but they do need to make clear it's only an opinion not something carved in ink and paper in brooklyn .HE HE get it like carved in stone? Thanks for the info blondie , can always count on you to contribute in huge ways.

How would the Society give up 1914?
by donny induring the 1930's when the society was quietly moving jesus' presence from 1874 to 1914, it only seemed to ruffle a few feathers and most accepted this "brighter light.

They've already stated it was an invisible generation anyway .. well ,(more or less) suddenly they can't define a generation as mentioned in mathew .Personally I don't feel they need to change the date just the understanding of what it says in mathew .Their main problem was promising the generation eternal life , the scripture doesn't promise eternal life but rather apparently the restoration of christianity , fits right in with the two waves of plagues . One the locust with scorpion tails and the other the Calvary of snake tails .They've already said that the second wave is in action today.IMO

Death and JW's
by Wordly Andre inin regards to other posts about people dropping dead during meeting and assemblies, it has been my belief that jw's have a pretty weird way of dealing with death.
i'm not sure if its just my family or what but none of my brothers or sisters ever go to visit my dad's grave.
i know this for sure, because no one in my family burried him, i took his ashes and placed him in a cemetery, none of my jw brothers or sister ever asked where is dad located, and by that time my mom was already married to another jw.

All I can say is recently my father died and some nice old lady that reads the obituaries sends my mom a letter and yes there is a WTBTS track inside ,"What hope for dead loved ones"? I actually thought it was a nice idea at first but now considering it as just a way for them to hit you at one of the weakest moments in your life ,being a sympathetic ear is one of the best ways to gain someones confidence , they also like to use the scripture of, God is close to the broken heart-ed ,just like the other churches .I do disagree with some of what the track says as well. They claim the bible is not saying that death is a threshold to or doorway to a better life , then how come the apostle Paul said in his writings that he was torn between his ministry and facing death to be with christ? He longed to be with christ ,apparently being in this world and actually experiencing his presence was not enough. Those type of things are in the bible .This world is just a place for people to prove and test their metal for the next and death is clearly one way to move to the next .

You would think they would have a press statement available on the williams girls and all celebrities outed as to their current status . All they have to do is contact the elders in their congregations to find out about judicial hearings . Clearly the Williams girls are not devout witnesses it doesn't mean they don't believe what the WTBTS says , I've known many people that just up and say I believe the witnesses but just don't want to be one . A very strange stand to make . The sports industry is all about greed and creature worship , I don't know how the WTBTS can just clam up over it ,it's obviously a distraction from all they believe in as far not being part of the world , all other witness wouldn't be allowed to go to the YMCA to play tennis and certainly not with the intent on winning but only for the exercise ,these people are on international TV playing high stakes games , promoting all sorts of commercial and worldly interests . I think the US army or marines are even part sponsor , at least in football they are.
