I think when they said 1874 that no one knew the date for the fall of babylon so more or less a guess ,I don't think they had all the calculations to come to 1914 CE , later they concluded 607 which is still disputed by secular historians and then they add the 7 times 360 and moved forward for the end of gentile times , it took them awhile to realize WW1 was a sign of his presence and he was not going to return until after the truth was fully revealed and preached about .. I personally think that mathew 24 coincides with it even tho this religion can't seem to keep it's foot out it's mouth and lack the humility to ask for forgiveness and admit a lie even , a lie is a lie whether deliberate or other wise .

i think he thinks he is well on his way to make me a study but i have asked him to provide evidence that the wbrts is what it claims to be by reference to how it was appointed and how the current gb came to inherit that authority.
but one issue we ahd was the position of jesus accordign to the wbts and he said that he sits in heaven at the right hand of jehovah planning the future.

according to them , jesus is only interested in working with his remnant , I think it's clear that the remnant disappeared from the death of the last apostle til modern day , clearly the catholics and protestants don't qualify but the question is, who is teaching the truth today that may qualify ? The WTBTS insists it is them but they are constantly changing the beliefs under the new light dogma , if something is wrong even if you believe it right , that's not coming from jesus and is false .

they may as well start with a collection plate if they are going to use guilt trips for more money , a corporation that brings in a billion dollars a year is not hurting for money , they compare themselves to the ancient israelites just like the MS religions do expecting 10 per cent . The first church only ran a charity for widows and orphans as the mortality rate was hight from the persecution , I remember the apostle John said to look after them > Jesus did tell the LF to sell everything they ownded and give gifts of mercy to the poor . This religion could not be expanding that fast since 7 million seems to be the number for the last decade and why would you build a church somewhere you know it's going to get burned down anyway? There just doesn't seem to be scriptural support for building churches , if people sold all they owned then they wouldn't even have property . Yet another rag not worth the time or effort printing , proof that they are wasting what they get anyway .

I can agree that the quick build construction is a good place to teach the young ones some skills but I don't get where this is some sort of service that jehovah has to approve of , do not neglect you family of course is the most important thing , I don't see anywhere in the NT that christians went and bought land to build churches on , instead they sold all their property , if they had anything more than they needed for a day they were considered greedy and bad association , just how this thing turns into what the WTBTS made it into is not in the bible .

Doesn't the ARMAGEDDON teaching foster a MORBID view of the future?
by Black Man ineven when i was dyed-in-the-wool j-dub, i felt the armageddon teaching was one of the most morbid concepts to be hammered into the psyches of jws.
think about it, only jws would survive this catastrophe, which translates to roughly .001 percent of the population would survive while everyone else would die a horrible death.
that includes people who do good things and are good people, but are just not jws.

If that's what you believe then , I think you were not understanding what it is about and they were'nt teaching it correctly . Revelation 16 is where the word appears and only 1 time , it appears to be a spiritual battle located on a fictional battle ground where the church and the state are stuggling over the preaching work and the state attacks the church . Not until 19 does anything really happen when jesus destroys all world governments but if we look at Daniel 11-12 you see why , it's because the king of north and south have all but destroyed the planet over global dominance ...IMO

I know that's a lie fernando . The KH I attended would have the ministry school time to say they need money for projects or to pay the mortgage or the electric bill .. They even went so far at one meeting to turn off the power and cancel stating they needed money .. absolutely pathetic

Poor, confused sheepies!
by stillin inas an actively inactive person who attends meetings pretty regularly, i have made an observation that would be comical if it weren't so pathetic.. between the watchtower study and the weekly bible study ( which is actually a book study, but don't tell anyone) i have noticed the witnesses being urged to have love among themselves and reach out to nes who may be weaker or having difficulties.
so, within the next week or two there is a general warming-up toward me, a friendly phone call from my assigned field service group overseer, a hike across the auditorium by the coboe to ask how i'm doing, etc.. then comes the wt article, now and then, that mentions how dangerous bad associations can be, even from among those in the congregation!

Been there done that , got the T shirt . you make spiritual progress only if you agree with the WTBTS every bit , there's no room for debate , just sit there and tell them how greatful you are even if they make 180 degree changes in their stand on various topics and you were right to question it even if you did .
