besides the usual drivel there were a couple interesting things.

1. an entire 1 hour discourse on helping our children become little innocent martyrs for the wt via.

I can believe that the GB is going to take a cold hard stand on blood. The more persecution that is heaped on the sheep (i.e. court orders, children dying etc.) the more the sheep believe they are the only true organization. It is to the benefit of the GB to have "the world "persecuting the members

Why not perform a visual experiment with your JW friends?

place all the society's book publications you can get your hands on from bygone decades on a table top.. russell's divine plan of the ages, rutherford's colorful screeds, the books from the 40's--70's (mostly by fred franz) and.

place a sign next to them and photograph the whole collection.. .

Elder's advice we remember

i remember ones when i was quite tired and low one elder said to me " it says in the bible that the one who endures to the end will survive, so really the only thing you/we have to do is to endure".. wow, gee, really!!

hey well that's a relief and encouraging....thanks.... i think that all that enduring was what made me tired and depressed in the first place..... what do you have to relate?.

Marrying someone very spiritual will make for a solid marriage.

I think I should have concentrated on someone mentally stable and who had some respect for women. But, No - I had to find the most spiritual man there was.

sometimes these questions are in the books such as this week's book study.

they spiced it up a little bit for this book study though.

For the 1st 20 years in the borg, I answered as little as I could get away with, without upsetting mother and father. The next 20 years, I never bothered to answer. It was all so stupid to read the retarded paragraph and then repeat the stupidity in an answer.

Flying to Orlando tomorrow, my daughter is in the hospital

my daughter is in the hospital with pneumonia, and possibly a blood clot in her lung.

they'll be testing through the night...apparently, her heart is enlarged as well.

she is scared... and if her jw father catches wind of it, he will be there trying to intefere with her treatment... he lives close by to her, so i'll be flying down in the morning....to head him off at the pass.

As Far as JW's and Thanksgiving go...

it's one of the most confusing holidays to jw's.

it doesn't specify who to give thanks to, it's a u.s. holiday that is semi-patriotic and semi-religious but not necessarily either one.. i suppose jw's should go out of their way to avoid giving thanks this thursday so jehovah doesn't get pissed at them for being so slightly normal worldly and maybe accidentally smite them if armageddon starts this thursday..

I am going all out this year with 18 courses and 19 people. I am even pulling out my china and silver. I want my 80 year old hard core JW parents to come so badly.

My father gave me the whole JW song and dance spiel this morning of why it is wrong. I told him "I have so much to be thankful for this year. This is the only day all year that we can get together with all the siblings, nieces, nephews and very good friends. All the other holidays, someone is always out of town. This is the first time we will all be together since my brother's memorial. Please let's not wait until the next funeral to be together."

YEE HAAAAAA!!! They are coming!! I am so HAPPY!!! I love it when I can cut through the JW BS!

i am sure that this question as been asked before.

when i think of my life now,a lovely kind beautiful wife, two happy healthy kids, good job, nice home, real friends.

yes since i left the jws almost twenty years ago i can honestly say i have lived my life.. when i eventually left the death by bordem cult ... i had nothing, a loveless marraige i only stayed in because of the jws, no friends, no home to call my own, in debt, i had a wife who was so depressed she shooped to make herself happy.

Great Question!

I would have somehow survived my loveless marriage, dull friends, guilt ridden conscience and mundane life. However, what would have been unbearable is to have seen my two beautiful daughters forced to live the same life I lived all over again. The thought makes me physically sick!! The mirror broke - they are both happy agnostic college students with a lovely life right now and a lovely life in front of them.

but if so, how do you absorb all the hateful rhetoric disseminated here without spitting it back in your spouses face?.
