JW unwittingly shares article PROMOTING pot smoking

so, my wife is surfing facebook today.

comes across a post by a jw "friend" of ours titled "8 scientific reasons you should never smoke weed.".

it turns out to be an article actually showing evidence to the contrary!

It will be interesting to see how the society handles the legalization of cannabis. Especially since they cannot use the old fallback that smoking destroys your lungs because a lot of the pot today is inhaled by vapor pens or eaten as an edible.

joined the site, not that i have much to share.. i'm married to a jw (wife).

i never have been or will be a jw, i honestly hate the wt (not the jws).

being married to a jw, can sometimes make you crazy, i never believed any of the bs.

I know what you mean about the day being ruined when you have to attend a meeting that evening. It took me years of being out before I could find anything good about Tuesdays and Thursdays. They were cursed days for four decades.

the borg's tactics on most jw work.

they put fear into their mind, they guilt trip them and basically make them scared to do anything when they are away from the kingdom hall.

it allows them to control every aspect of their life.

Before I left JW land, I confided to a number of my married female friends that I was getting huge bills from the phone company for #800...porn (thanks to the activities of my elder husband.) Every sister I confided in told me their husband was enjoying the pornography industry also. Most of these sisters were elder's wives.

i went back to smoking and gambling but the good habits out weigh.

the bad ones, like lying to people.

technically incorrect, but effectively he does .... if we're to believe the genesis account the serpent deceived eve and made her eat of the tree of knowledge.

it all went pear shaped from there on in, although most people believe it was an apple (boom tish).. but anyway .... either it was a literal serpent that could talk on it's own behalf or, as people typically believe, it was satan who was the puppet master and possessing the creature.. the first raises all sorts of questions that contradict the whole bible narrative (another creature that could reason, talk, debate existence and law etc...) so let's go with "the satan theory".. how does got react to his 'perfect' creation immediately being completely imperfect as soon as he takes it out of the box?

(he's like 0 for 4 ... satan, serpent, woman, man ... all break his rules).

One of the older publications (I'm thinking it is Life Everlasting in the Freedom of the Sons of God) had a Garden of Eden picture with a snake that had stubby legs and feet.

Because of this picture, I was sure that I had secret knowledge of snakes that none of my school mates in the 3rd grade had.

This article is pure pleasure. I thought at first it was a joke, but apparently not. It seems the key to converting an atheist is to not bring up science or the Bible....hmmmmm......but, they say to take genuine interest by talking about food. Yeah, that always does it for me.....mention my breakfast burrito and Jesus here I come!

Active posters: What education have you had, what degrees do you possess?

from so many posts and conversations on here, you'd think over 1/2 the posters here possess doctorates in theology, physics, biology, etc.

i'm curious aside from the books and research people have done here, what degrees they have.

to start, i just got an aa and going straight through full time to an mba.
