this is my first exjw baptism anniversary.. does anyone have any fun suggestions to commemorate an un-baptism?.
SATANUS... They had me write down in one of their books, i think it was the 'lamp' book. But then, that book turned out to be bad, and we had to get rid of it

My baptism was the spring of 1980. The only thing I remember about it is that I weighed 116 pounds and I wanted to weigh 114. I was worried that I looked fat in my swimsuit.

can someone please remind me how they explain the need for a secret elders book to the r & f?
my jw has given numerous convoluted reasons over the years and i have forgotten the official reasoning.
on one hand they claim no clergy class, we are all the same, blah, blah, yet they have only one book the r & f (particularly women) cannot see.
I went to visit my parents last night. I brought my new elder book (all bound, highlighted, underlined and sticky paper marked), my father pulled out his new one. He was irritated, naturally, but was willing to discuss a couple of things(at 80 yrs old, he is more relaxed than most elders). He told me the secrecy is for legal reasons, blah blah blah, lawsuits, blah blah blah, never can be too careful etc etc.
I told him I was a little disturbed at 6:16. When someone is suicidal, professional help needs to be called in immediately. 6:16 councils elders to call the society. That is a very risky stand to take on such a serious issue.He responded with"The society is razor sharp in their thinking."
Okay dad, thanks, that clears up everything. Thank you for those nuggets of wisdom.

my jw cousin, who is now an elder's wife and mother of three, once said this years ago.
I was raised to believe that saying Shut-up was the same as saying Fuck-you. We were never allowed to say those words. My children were never allowed to say those words and if a man ever said those words to me I would be history!!!!
how many elders wives or kids have looked at the congregation files without their husband/father knowing about it?
anyone here have any knowledge of this.
how foolish anyone is to go to these people if they keep a written record/file on you.

My father was always letting things slip, or maybe it was because my mother was always prying. My husband, on the other hand, was extremely closed lipped, did not reveal anything. However, he sure took extensive notes at every committee meeting. His notebook was always sitting on his desk. I was a depressed, bored, lonely elder's (i.e. Stepford) wife. Of course I read that notebook regularly. That had a huge bearing on why I never showed up for my committee meetings. His notes were in such detail....How much of the breast was touched, was the nipple fondled, did the nipple get hard, how many fingers were on the nipple, did the other breast get touched or just the left one, when did the erection start - before you touched her, were the pants unzipped .......pages and pages of this....Yes, it was an interesting read, and Yes I beleive most elders wives do snoop - we are a miserable group of people after all.
