Not a bad little hangout!
by Yadirf ini was looking at a magazine while waiting for my son to come out from seeing his doctor a couple of weeks ago, and it had an article in it about dick cheney.
(i think it was a magazine named architecture.
) it showed pictures of the home cheney is favored with living in during his tenure as vice president of the united states.

JW's Offer Me A Plea Bargain.
by Englishman ini havent mentioned this before because, when it happened i was quite rattled.. there was a knock at the door a little while back, and who should be stood there but john dayment, the fella who used to be my dads assistant when he was po of weston super mare, back in the 60s.. he had with him another chappy, i think that his name was rod something, and they both launched into how good it would be to see me make my way back.
apparently they were both elders, and this was my once a year visit.
i was disinclined to be rude because my mum is still in contact with john hey, for all i know he might be my step-father one day!

Hmmm,
Im sure big life insurance policies sound very appealing to them right now too.
What if they are going through the books, looking for mid-aged, retired or older ex-witnesses.
Whatever the reason, Im sure it is to benefit themselves. Then again, hasnt it always been that way. -

Copping Out?
by IslandWoman inare we copping out if we blame the watchtower for almost everything that went wrong in our watchtower life?.

Dana,
I dont think that many are blaming the society for all the problems in their lives. I do know that the W.T.S. should not be without blame because they have been the cause of suffering for many people.
I am very satisfied with my life now. I have a great husband, two healthy children, I live comfortably and I like my job. I do however feel obligated to tell others about the suffering they may endure by joining the W.T.S.
I tell others about my experience as a J.W. not because I cant let go but because I dont want others to have to go through it. -

many of us did not have a choice.
I was raised a J.W.
I dont remember having a choice when I was forced to go
out in service, to the kingdom hall, to assemblies, to bookstudies. I was without a father because the society told my mother she couldnt remarry because my father abandoning us wasnt enough grounds for her to be scriptually free. If she did, death would result.
I am without a grandfather because the society told him it was not permitted, according to the bible, to accept a blood transfusion.
Many trusting people have lost their lives or loved ones due to the W.T.S taking it upon themselves to control people by knowingly altering the bible and its message.
Yes, we do have a choice as adults but that doesnt excuse the W.T.S or any organization from false prophecying, condemning of innocent people and children or using the bible for controlling purposes. -

Somthing must be up.
They wouldnt be asking anyone back unless it was to benefit the Org. Maybe the congregation is behind on service hours, did they recently lose members and the congregation numbers are down? Maybe they need more able bodied volunteer workers for their "quick build kingdom hall weekends".
So,,,,,are you going to repent and ask the W.T.S forgivness? -

I agree, there are times when I read a thread and it stresses me lately I find myself clicking onto another when that happens. If I feel that I can contribute to the issue than I usually cant resist posting my opinion though.
I guess it depends on the subject and how the discussion is going. I missed allot this weekend though, it sounds like it got pretty personal. -

INCREDIBLE STUFF SAID @ BOOK STUDY!
by Mister Biggs inironically, we were discussing the watchman who stays awake night and day.. anyway, something was said that made me awaken and pay careful attention.
please, if anyone else who got this same information at their book study, please share it.. here goes:.
there was a picture of a man standing on the watchtower keeping on the look out.

There is a big difference between a watchman sounding an alarm and saying "We should beware, there may be danger" and a watchman saying, "We must beware, armageddon is comming on this day in 1975, those living now will never perish, put in more hours, blah, blah, blah".

Childbearing in THIS time of the End
by Thirdson inresponsible childbearing in this time of the end .
i heard the talk that formed the basis of this article in the summer of 1987 while attending with my pregnant wife.
the stress was on not having children and devoting lives to preaching the watchtower's message.

They have always been teaching not to have children. I thought it actually might have let up. Its sad to see its still going strong.
J.W. women in my family are childless because of this.
Its actually very stupid. If they would instead stop permitting birth control, like catholics etc. They would have a more rapid growth and wouldnt have to spend so much time banging on doors.
I also read that they dont think its wise because of the amount of time and attention that children need, this would take away from their studies etc.
I think the W.T.S. is really thinking about how much money the society will be given if there arent any beneficiaries upon a J.W.s death.
Skully;
I would have slapped that elder.
What a jerk!
