i thought it was fine as far as it went but looking at it through the local jw eyes it will not get what you all and i hoped for.
the show didn't put proof on all the cases we all know about.

In the opening statements alone they mentioned the blood issue, molestation, the shunning issue and how it breaks apart families, not to mention how J.W.s view the public as the devil and to be killed in Armageddon. It was more than I could have hoped for the world to hear the short time givin. Actually filming sex offenders going door to door made a huge visual impact. Very well done.
I just mentioned in chat how shows like Oprah, The View etc. usually get ideas for thier guests from other news programs. I dont think weve heard the end of this.
as of 1 pm today barb anderson was notified that she has been disfellowshipped in writing by the judicial committee in her congregation.
barb was df in absentia at a second hearing that was declared after she successfully defended herself against charges in the first hearing.
home office came back with further instructions to make it stick the second time around.

I agree that the blood issue needs just as much attention.
The problem is that most of the people involved are either J.W.s or have J.W. family and would risk too much by telling their story. Many, like myself, may have already lost loved ones by their refusing transfusions and would risk losing the rest of their J.W. family by openly exposing their doubts about the society to the media.
shouldn't get imune to these stories but there are just too many of them.......... .

Im actually surprised it doesnt happen more often.
I work with a woman who's church broke apart, so to speak, and "locked" opposing preachers out of a "secret meeting".
The dissed preachers and their close friends and family went on to build a new church. Currently, they each claim that they alone are the only true faith and the other is of course false, along with all other "pagan" religions of the world.
