  I was trying to get re-instated, they rejected my letter, even though they felt I was truly repentant and felt God had forgiven me. I then questioned who are these men that step in God's place, judge me and tell me I can't be in God's organization? I started to look into the history of the WTS and was shocked! 1914 and how Russell measured pyramids to confirm that date just made me realize what a damn fool I was my entire life! I then questioned everything they taught me and realized I can never be a JW again knowing what I know of the WTS now.

  i have been lurking in the shadows for a while now i just got my account from the fine administrators of this board.

  i have really enjoyed reading the well thought out comments and critiques of the wts doctrine.. i have been around the wts since i was 5 i left for a while during high school got to live a little worldly/normal life then got sucked back in.

  my wife has been raised in the truth and even though weve been inactive (for a while now), she still has thoughts about the earthly hope and seeing her grandparents some day.

  ok. so losch is in weatherford, texas (west of dfw area) on sunday for the dedication of the new spanish kh.

  my wife tells me that everyone was so excited!

  one of the precious gb has come all the way to little ol' texas to grace the local mexicans with his christly prescence!

  well...my family is moving back to pa in may.

  as a result, my wife wrote a 2nd letter to the brothers to see if she can get reinstated before she leave.

  her first letter was ok but their response was, of course, attend more meetings!!.

  i've only flown twice in my life and that was a long time ago, and never in a helicopter.. .

  1st and 2nd batallions participated in a helo medevac drill today.

  as mentioned in the thread - http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/171251/1/jws-on-bbc - on the bbc website under the beliefs section they state that "elders disfellowship 50,000 to 60,000 witnesses around the world every year.

  each year, however, 30,000 to 40,000 are reinstated having "come back to their spiritual senses".".

  does anyone know where they could have got those stats?.

  "Locally, I know some who have gone back and it's almost always so they can be accepted by their JW families of origin. But, overwhelmingly, the number disfellowshipped appears to far exceed those who ever go back into Kingdom Halls.

  I would guess that a disfellowshipped person who has family in the religion is more likely to go back than a disfellwoshipped person whose family is not in the religion. That would be a very interesting hypothesis to test"

  Yeah I think your right about that because I do not have immediate family still in so it was not as tough a decision for me to not go back.
