i'm planning on sending a local radio station some materials regarding silentlambs.
this radio station in nyc, wbai pacifica radio 99.5, is a progressive one.
no commercials and is totally listener sponsored.
My suggestion is to email Bill Bowen and ask him if he has put something like that together or if someone is putting one together for him. I have almost every press release Bill has sent out since June or July, if you need any of them please let me know.

i have posted here for sometime as 'bang', and in my outrage at the evil that i have witness come from "witnesses", but now i am calming enough that i do not wish to be 'bang', and i have started an account anew as "a paduan".
i will post under this name now, hopefully in a calmer manner - i need to heal a bit.
although i have never met you all, i feel it would be deceitful to not say, so i;m saying, and bang will post no more.. i have no idea if there are rules i have broken, but i think you can't change your username once you establish it, and i just don't want to "bang" anymore.. thepaduan (and i really am a paduan, schooled as such)
For the ones that don't know what a paduan is, it is a jedi in training---you know Star Wars.

well, my fluff thread on eggs went over pretty well, so i thought i would start one on bacon.
now, of course, bacon and eggs go together.
that is axiomatic.
I love bacon as long and it is crunchy and not all fat. I had turkey bacon and it was good---no grease at all. I also like canadian bacon on pizza, and bacon bits on salad and baked potatoes.

now that i got your attention.... well, oprah hasn't yet awarded $50,000 to silent lambs, but she very well could if enough of us "nominate" silentlambs (bill/sheila/joe/barbara, et al) for oprah's "use your life award.
" any regular oprah-watchers will know what i'm referring to; that during the season, she presents various individuals (on monday's show each week) with this award for their service to their cause (along with the big fat check)... .
Well, you got my attention and my vote too. This is what I wrote:
Bill Bowen is an ANGEL!!! He is the one who started the Silentlambs.org site. He has opened the eyes of THOUSANDS of Jehovah's Witness who thought they were alone in an everyday nightmare. Sexually abused survivors now have a place to go to and find healing ,and he has stood up against the Jehovah's Witnesses Headquarters demanding a change in their policy. I never knew the problem was worldwide, I thought it was only my congregation, and so did every other sexual abuse victim. Because of Bill Bowen, we know we are not alone and been able to come together and not be silent anymore, now we have the courage to fight back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think Bill deserves this award cause it will be used to help more victims and keep silentlambs available to so many more who need it.

To be honest I don't think the religion itself will cease to exist, but I hope at least the policy on abuse will be the new light. I hope it will change and children will be protected if their parents choose that way of life.

I haven't been here long, and have chosen to ignore all the arguing. I have my own opinions on this matter, but like I was told as a child you can't please everyone no matter how hard you try. I just overlook the disagreements and choose to look for the helpful and insightful threads here. I love to chat with the ones here and even there we don't always agree. If I click on a thread and my eyes start rolling I just hit the back button-lol.
I do enough arguing with family and chose not to argue with someone who is set on how they feel. It will only upset you and the others involved. I have stopped bringing up issues with my own family that make total sense cause they are set in their ways and opinions. Please don't let this stop you from coming here cause there are alot of people who care and want to help. I just choose to look the other way on certain issues, since I have not done so in the past I will not say I always do this, but I do try. My advice to myself and others is- don't type in anger, think first and you will probably save yourself alot of stress.
