Do The Magazines Suggest Organizational Decay?
by metatron injuly 2009 awake: "why am i afraid to share my faith?
" this article assumes that jehovah's witness children are ashamed of their faith!.
it says "define your fears" and "accept the challenge".

We need to remember what the purpose of the Watch Tower Society is; to announce Jehovah's Kingdom. They believe that kingdom arrived in 1914. Why on earth would they want to remind people of that, nearly 100 years after the event?
Also, the Watch Tower Society has chosen to eschew much of what the Bible teaches about Christ and the Holy Spirit and the effect a relationship with has on your life. So, they can't fill the magazine with stuff like that.
They're pretty much stuck pedaling the same eschatological nonsense that's been embarrassing them for decades.

Could Watchtower Collapse Be Sooner Than You Think?
by metatron inthere have been a number of developments over the past few months and they paint an interesting picture.. witnesses can keep dragging themselves to meetings ad infinitum however, the future of the watchtower itself is another story.
the evidence of continuing cash flow problems is now overwhelming.
if you talk to well placed witnesses, most won't deny it but simply blame it on the publishers financial problems.. they have cut off loans to congregations many of whom genuinely need new kingdom halls.

Great post, Willy.
And I agree with Ynot;
In the end..... this is not a sect that was ever suppose to see the 21st century!

Why do the JW's say miracles are from Beelzebub
by androb31 inthe jw's claim that modern day miracles (prophesying, healing, tongues) are from the devil.
the following is their reasoning why they believe this (from an article on the jw official website).
this is rather arbitrary when the cited scripture is read.

Members of these religions claim that miracles prove that their religion is blessed by God. But so-called miracles do not prove that a religion has Jehovah’s approval.
Strawman.

The Last (Lord's) Supper
by PSacramento ini wanted to ask this question beacuse at the last memorial supper it caught my attention more than it ever did:.
why do some (not just the jw's) believe that judas did not partkae of the lord's supper, the bread and the wine?.
in the synoptic gospels of matt, mark and luke, there is nomention of judas being sent away, indeed in luke jesus says "behold the hand of the betrayer at the table with me".. while in john judas is sent away, he is sent after the supper, though it is not clear if this was the lord's supper since there is no mention of the the partaking of the wine and bread in john.. help would be greatly appreciated.. .

In my personal experience, Jehovah's Witnesses have no problem criticising, misinterpreting, or ignoring verses in the Bible that contradict their doctrines. If the Watch Tower Society has no comment to make about a verse, that verse is then viewed as being irrelevant.

Bitchy women at work..."hell hath no fury like a woman scorned!" Why girls?
by Witness 007 inso at work we had an middle eastern family get alittle upset due to a long wait, i think their culture tends to raise their voice a bit, their child was sick and they were worried, waiting for medicine.
while calming them down, one of the staff ladies is jumping in from behind under-cutting my calming speech with her interference....i asked her to back off.. well the women i work with did not like me "reasoning" with them witness style, oh no!
they wanted me to throw the mum, dad, child, mother in-law, out on their ass.

It amazes me that when you read the Gospels and see Jesus performing healing miracle after healing miracle, and then you see him giving authority to his followers to do the same, and then you see the Holy Spirit enabling the healing miracles to continue, that Jehovah's Witnesses say that nowadays, when healing miracles occur, it's due to the devil.
Didn't Jesus warn the Pharisees against blaspheming against the Holy Spirit?

Romans 10:13
by PSacramento inwe all know that the passage from paul's letter to romans, romans 10:13 says:.
"all those who call on the name of the lord will be saved".. now, in the nwt they translate that as jehovah instead of the word "lord", because this is a quote from joel 2:32 and in the ot the tetragrammaton yhwh is used, which the nwt translates as "jehovah" (not only the nwt does that, the asv,yng and dby, do it also in regards to joel).. however, of the 16 translations i have seen, all translate that passage in romans as lords and all the commentaries i have read so far, point to view that paul was applying that passage to jesus, being his name that is salvation.. commentaries by james, fausset and brown, by matthew henry and by barnes, to name only 3.. comments?.

Ephesians 4: 8 Wherefore he says: “When he ascended on high he carried away captives; he gave gifts [in] men.”
Who is being spoken of in this verse by Paul? Jesus Christ. Where is he quoting from? The OT, namely Psalm 68:18 where it says;
18 You have ascended on high; You have carried away captives; You have taken gifts in the form of men, Yes, even the stubborn ones, to reside [among them], O Jah God
Interesting.
