I'm new here
by Diamonds ini stumbled across this website a few months back and have often read the topics posted but this is the first time that i've posted anything myself.. all my family are jws - i got baptized when i was 17 but started to fade when i was about 20 and finally left at 22 when i managed to escape to university and move away from home.
ten years on and i am still out of the org but never disfellowshipped (although i would have been if they'd have known what i've been up to!).
the relationship with my family is not great - i get on with some members better than others.

Downloadable graph-severity/frequency of earthquakes 1900-2050
by rebel8 ini graphed the data from us geological survey re frequency and severity of worldwide earthquakes from 1900-2010, then added trendlines to forecast through 2050.. you will not be shocked at the results.. jehovah must hate math.. share this info as you wish, just please link to http://www.lulu.com/ex-jw vs using other links or hosting it elsewhere.

you can't scare people into compliance
If people don't comply you can't control them
If you can't control them how do you get them to do
what you want
If they don't do what you want you can't have a religion
If you don't have a religion who is going to buy your books
and magazines on a regular basis
If nobody wants what you print they will probably cease selling
for you, buying you books and sending you money
If you don't get money sent to you all the time you'll have to close
your buildings, sell the property, leave town and go get a job somewhere
Or you can just start scaring those that don't know any better....................

Why are we repulsed at the though to consuming human milk?
by Elsewhere ini saw a story this morning about a guy who is making cheese using his wife's breast milk.. i checked a poll and 80% of people think this is gross.
i must admit there is a part of me that is repulsed too.
my scientific "geek" and curious side is intrigued and would want to try it... but then the repulsion kicks in again.
