  Craziest thing you've ever been "counseled" for????

  i know that this has been a popular post in the past.

  but after my last post, it got me thinking.

  i used to always use those stupid field service report slips as scratch paper.

  Counseled for:

  Hair too long

  Hair too short

  Shirt color (not white)

  Tie too colorful

  Glasses liks a "hippie"

  Late to a meeting (wrecked car on way)

  Sitting alone

  Sitting with someone

  Standing

  Going outside during meeting (was having panic attacks)

  Not wearing jacket when in service (100 degree days)

  Working too much - should be pioneering instead

  Car not nice enough - can't use for service

  Car too nice (bought a new sports car, I was leaving anyway)

  "Wordly" music, books, etc.

  Going on a "date" without intention of marrying the girl (just met her)

  Attending other Kingdom Halls

  Going to wrong assemblies

  Bottom line; no matter what one did someone had an ax to grind about it.

  Petty, insignificant people with a self righteous sense of power.

  I guess thats what you get when your an Elders oldest son (must set example)

  The funniest thing was what didn't happen.

  In my final judicial commitee hearing (last of 4) I stood up after

  getting pounded on for 20 minutes, flipped them all off (both hands)

  and told them to F**k Off. I'm done and out of here. Do as you will!!

  Never heard from them again.

  im so happy ive got to tell someone!

  at the beginning of the year i made the final mental decision to leave the truth and fade.

  i havent been out in service or to a meeting in a long time.

  Do You Clearly Understand That "The Truth" Is Nothing But Bullcrap?

  what a waste of living being "in the truth" was!

  sometimes i see persons suggesting that the witness religion isn't all so wrong.

  actually they suggest that they themselves are the issue.

  Since I was born-in it is really hard to tell what or what not

  I would have learned or experienced outside of the religion.

  It would be a useless mental exercise at best.

  What is indesputable, in my mind, is that

  they are a CULT.

  By that very definition alone they are wrong.

  For me to say any less would be an attempt

  to give some type of "Moral Equalivence" to them.

  No matter what teachings they teach that are correct,

  No matter what sayings they have that are true,

  No matter how sincere they may be,

  NOTHING can change the harmful and dangerous

  aspect of cultism and mind control.

  It is in our own self interest to NEVER forget this!!

  Selfish it may be but all life has a built in desire

  to preserve itself. Cults attempt to destroy that.

  If we ever hope to grow and improve ourselves

  we must never stop learning and thinking for ourselves.

  Pressing our own thoughts and agendas concerning

  this or that misses the point of the real danger.

  Any person,

  political party,

  corporation,

  philisophy,

  religion,

  nation or state,

  that does such a thing

  needs to be condemed for what they are.

  Not praised for the fact that "they made the trains run on time".

  my cousin - who was also my best friend for 35 years have been involved in an email exchange in recent weeks.

  previous to that he was mostly shunning me.

  without getting into details, he had given me room to explain things, especially as to how i have 'changed' as a result of leaving.

  i've been reading a few pages of threads from saturday until today and i can't understand why some,(actually very few) try to damage this site.

  this is one of a handful of (ex)jw sites that really helps people get out of the organization.

  the interaction that we have here shows anyone how we can leave the so- called "truth" and enjoy life!
