meat has blood in it even if it's bled.

still eating meat means consuming blood.

Also that Jesus died on an upright pole as opposed to a cross despite all the historical artifacts ( old church buildings, monestries, gravestones, paintings, etc, etc, etc) which clearly shows that across was used.

That Jesus words at John 3:1-7 .... 'You must be born again to enter the Kingdom' only apply to the 144,000 and that the Kingdom here mentioned is the heavenly Government whereas mostly all other mentions of the Kingdom include Paradise earth!

I beleive that Armeghdon will eventually arrive. Please show me where in the Bible it teaches that only JWs will survive Armeghdon. I am aware of scriptures which teach that practicers of xyz will not enter the Kingdom and that you must love your neighbour, you must be born again to enter the kingdom and that Jesus is the way, truth and life, etc, etc, etc. but I cannot find any passages of scripture that teach that you must be JWs to survive.

If being a JW was a gauranteed way to survive Armeghdon then surely God who loves us and does not wish any of his children to perish would have made this crystal clear without any doubts whatsoever.

If it was so obviously 'the truth' then why are JWs constantly being reminded that they are in 'the truth' and that this is the true religion. If is was such a great religion 'spiritual paradise' then why aren't people streaming into it?

i had a bunch of tiny little nags that always bothered me about the bible/god/etc.

that eventually led to me drifting away, but this was my personal, singular issue that no one could address.

i think i mentioned it before here, but, for summation again:.

For me it was the the May 2007 WT Question from Readers article which null and voided the teaching that the 144,000 were sealed in 1935. The explanation behind the 1935 date was that the Holy Spirit must of been operational in setting this date because the emphasis of the preaching work had changed from the gathering of the Annnointed to the gathering the the great crowd.

Then in May 2007 all of a sudden this 80 year old doctrine was dropped.

So obviously the Holy Spirit did not direct this doctrine so who did? Man set the date and fooled us all into believing it!

From this point forward I have critically examined and viewed with suspicion all doctrine which is not stipulated in the scriptures. This of course puts accepting 1914, blood transfusion band, 144,000 being a literal number although the Revelation 7 criteria being figurative, etc, etc all at serious risk.

Need help!!!! My wife has a part on whether Christ was raised a spirit body...

I often wondered why the WTS is so insistent that Jesus was raised as a spirit, could not work out why it was such a major doctrinal teaching!!! Does it really matter in the scheme of things?

I finally worked it out, well it's to justify Jesus returning invisibly in 1914. If he was raised / ascended with a physical body then it is much easier to argue that his return would also have to be physical thus visible. It is much easier to support an invisible return doctrine when Jesus was raised as and still is in the spirit.

John 2:19

19. Jesus replied to them: “Tear down this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”

20. The Jews then said: “This temple was built in 46 years, and will you raise it up in three days?”

21. But he was talking about the temple of his body.

in a recent meeting with elders, an argument was used to the effect that jehovah has always [= throughout history] used, or operated through, an organization; therefore, the wts must be that organization today, since god must be using one.

naturally, i know what arguments i've used to counter that argument.

but i'm interested in hearing yours.

I have a scenario for you:

If I lived in the 18th century (or any century between the 2nd and 19th) was 'conscious of my spiritual need' and wanted to worship God 'in spirit and truth'.. which organisation should I have joined in order to get spiritually fed? (remember the wheat was still amongst the weeds).

Which specific organization was God using during this time?
