Sooo Armageddon comes....
by MsGrowingGirl20 inso let's say armageddon comes,do you believe that all jw's would be destroyed because jehovah knows it's a false religion...it can't be denied, for the most part, they try to live by the bible...if anybody has to be punished i would say it's the leaders...i know that god wouldn't judge a whole organization but persons individually....so what i'm trying to ask is....do you think you're in a better position right now not for freedom but for salvation than the witnesses??
if by the time you're finished reading this post armageddon is here...would u wish that you still were a witness or are you satisfied that you've made god proud?.

1969 "There is only a short time left before Jehovah will destroy this wicked system of things." (Watchtower, Jan. 15, 1969)
1971 "Shortly, within our twentieth century, the "battle in the day of Jehovah" will begin against the modern antitype of Jerusalem, Christendom." (The Nations Shall Know That I Am Jehovah; 1971; 2nd ed.; p. 216)
1974 "Yes, the end of this system is so very near! Is that not reason to increase our activity?...Reports are heard of brothers selling their homes and property and planning to finish out the rest of their days in this old system in the pioneer service. Certainly this is a fine way to spend the short time remaining before the wicked world's end." (Kingdom Ministry, May 1974, p. 3)

1968 "The immediate future is certain to be filled with climatic events, for this old system is nearing its complete end. Within a few years at most the final parts of Bible prophecy relative to these last days will undergo fulfilment resulting in the liberation of surviving mankind into Christ's glorious 1000 year reign!" (Watchtower, 1/5/1968)
Imagine how many people who read those words in 1968 are now buried in cemetaries across the globe.
Imagine how many 17-year-olds read those words and decided not pursue and education that could have benefited them financially for a lifetime.
Imagine how many wives decided not to have children, because they end was so close.

all jw's would be destroyed
This question implies that you believe 'God' is playing a huge game of Gotcha!, in which people with incorrect beliefs will be destroyed, even if they are good people who follow the Golden Rule. This concept of God is promoted by cults, high-control groups and religious fundamentalists. If you examine why you believe this, it's most likely because of WT indoctrination and literature.

Is it possible there will have to be "noo lite" soon regarding The Memorial?
by Amelia Ashton inmy understanding is that all jws originally took the emblems.
then when numbers went over 144k "noo lite" showed not all were destined for heaven but the leftover surplus were now going to live on.
earth.

The leadership of the WT is able to retain magical powers, by insisting that 99% of the flock are unlike them. They are special, chosen by God.

"yeah but it can't be denied--no doubt we're seeing the fulfillment of Jesus prophecy about the last days...so the Bible has some merit! So at the culmination of all this wickedness, what situation will you be in? You haven't given ANY thought to that????"
Actually, it can be denied. If you examine the evidence, you'll see what I mean.

Armageddon <------- This is the Boogey Man that WT uses. Armageddon isn't real. It's not going to happen. We're all going to die, just like the billions of humans before us, in a variety of ways. 'Fear of Armageddon' is a method to control people.
This may seem like a radical idea. The sooner you come to grips with it, the more meaning your life will have. We were lucky to have been born in the first place. Most eggs are never fertilized.
Every second you spend thinking about Armageddon is a second wasted on a fantasy.
Fear is the major motivator. It binds in two ways: (1) It creates an outside enemy who threatens or persecutes the member. This results in the "us versus them" world view, and (2) fear of failing the organization or fear of discovery and punishment by the leaders if you are lax in doing your job. What job? Why, serving the organization, of course! "Are you REALLY doing all you can to serve God?" (A typical introduction to guilt.)
Guilt is a good enforcer, but it won't work unless you can make people feel guilty about something. Note this subtle example: "Now that you have an understanding of God's purpose wouldn't you like to share it with others? We know God will destroy all wicked people shortly. Since we have knowledge of this we have a responsibility to warn others. If we don't do this God will find us bloodguilty at Armageddon. You wouldn't want to be held bloodguilty, would you?" Cults need a bogeyman. The Watchtower's bogeyman is Armageddon. Fear of eternal annihilation and fear of being found bloodguilty by God at Armageddon assures the continued service of the "faithful." Such fear adversely influences plans for marriage, college, careers, and the pursuit of happiness. It robs one's peace of mind and destroys one's quality of life. Fear is effectively used to attract new members as well. A little Bible prophecy, some statistics and current events, a few dates and the trap is set. Once the new convert buys into it, out jumps the bogeyman to motivate and manipulate. Cults don't offer a choice. The only choice is theirs. (Is sink or swim really a choice?)http://www.culthelp.info/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=10&Itemid=5
If you read Steve Hassan's first book, you'll learn about Fears & Phobias that members of high-control groups usually have. This is normal. However, you can rid yourself of these fears.
