MOST inactive and former JWs are still captive to the concept that WT is God's Organization. A significant percentage live in fear of Armageddon. Some inactive and/or DF'd ones know the WT is bunk, but must pretend to still believe it's The Truth in order to maintain what little relationships they may have with close JW family members.

This headline reminds me of what Ian Malcolm said in the film, Jurassic Park.
"Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should."
. . .
The South Korean foundation said it would transfer technology to the Russian university, which has already been involved in joint research with Japanese scientists to bring a mammoth back to life.
"The first and hardest mission is to restore mammoth cells," another Sooam researcher, Hwang In-Sung, told AFP. His colleagues would join Russian scientists in trying to find well-preserved tissue with an undamaged gene.
By replacing the nuclei of egg cells from an elephant with those taken from the mammoth's somatic cells , embryos with mammoth DNA could be produced and planted into elephant wombs for delivery, he said.
Sooam will use an Indian elephant for its somatic cell nucleus transfer. The somatic cells are body cells, such as those of internal organs , skin, bones and blood.
"This will be a really tough job, but we believe it is possible because our institute is good at cloning animals," Hwang In-Sung said.
South Korean experts have previously cloned animals including a cow, a cat, dogs, a pig and a wolf.
Last October Hwang Woo-Suk unveiled eight cloned coyotes in a project sponsored by a provincial government.

If you are a Christian, then you need to listen to the council of Paul and let this young man know that you do have feelings, but until he comes to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, you cannot continue on your courtship.
Sounds like good, old-fashioned spiritual blackmail. In fact, it sounds precisely like the JWs. Just replace "Paul" with "Governing Body" and "Jesus" with "Jehovah and Baptism".
Welcome!

Please begin saving money to hire a divorce attorney. You're going to need one.
All relationships end. You should seriously consider ending this one before it requires an attorney.
Welcome to the forum.

Hubby is doing research on D'fing to present to the CO
by cognac inhe thinks the light needs to get brighter on this so we are going to put a report together to give to the co. it's really bothering him because his dad was d'ffed for over 15 years - he has schizophrenia and even a co said he didn't think he should have ever been d'ffed to begin with.
he went to texas to save a woman from cockroaches - clearly this was because of his mental state.
he got f'ffed for that because they said he cheated on his wife and even if he didn't he had no business putting himself in that position.

The WT corporation is a game. The game is rigged. Your husband can expect to be very disappointed. If he's not, then he can be pleasantly surprised.

If you've left JWs for Christ - will the end still come?
by flamegrilled insomething i don't see supported much on jwn is the notion that the end of this system is indeed coming, even if later than wts has predicted over the years.. now for those that have left and become complete non-believers (in the bible) that is understandable.
you guys are welcome to comment of course, but i'm far more interested in some feedback from the people who have left jws and pursued a christian course.
are you still convinced that there will be a war of armaggedon or do you now interpret the scriptures a different way?.

Most Christians alive today are not apocalyptic. Many Fundamentalists in Western nations are.
Many cults and NRMs are apocalyptic.
IMHO, the essence of such a belief is individuals feeling that they are special and have special knowledge about the future. It also involves believing that your beliefs are superior and more 'correct' than tens of millions of other Christians on the planet.
Simply put, holding such views will set you up for a lifetime of disappointment and it has the potential to spoil your view of the world around you.

Sooo Armageddon comes....
by MsGrowingGirl20 inso let's say armageddon comes,do you believe that all jw's would be destroyed because jehovah knows it's a false religion...it can't be denied, for the most part, they try to live by the bible...if anybody has to be punished i would say it's the leaders...i know that god wouldn't judge a whole organization but persons individually....so what i'm trying to ask is....do you think you're in a better position right now not for freedom but for salvation than the witnesses??
if by the time you're finished reading this post armageddon is here...would u wish that you still were a witness or are you satisfied that you've made god proud?.
