40,000 of us die each year from car wrecks. Should they take away our cars? There are risks involved with living in a free society. We love our freedom, even if it comes with risks. The news headlines don't tell you about the thousands of innocent lives that are SAVED by lawful guns. If there were zero guns, we'd still find creative ways to kill one another. I like having a cheap, convenient means of protecting myself and my family. Since I'm not opposed to lethal force, in life or death situations, then I want an accurate, convenient and practical means of delivering it.
I think we all have invisible signs on our homes. These signs come in two flavors:
- (1) Please don't hurt us, we are unarmed and defenseless.
- (2) Please don't make me hurt you. I am armed and I will defend myself.
Which sign do you prefer?

Here's one person's take on it...
I'm afraid you and everyone who sees things the same way as you do are completely missing the point about this story. You may be doing so deliberately, because you're a very bright guy. But you surely have a responsibility to your more doltish readers.
The point isn't that turkeys shouldn't be slaughtered, or that it's somehow news that they are, or that Palin ought to have been more delicate for the sake of the frigging turkeys.
The point is that it's unbelievably ill-judged to stand in front of something that is more interesting than you are when giving a TV interview. That, my friend, is the joke. It would have been funny whichever pol stood there. That and the sheer, apolitical comedy of those images. Get it? Course you do.
That first principle is particularly important when you have nothing, nothing whatsoever, of any interest to say. Although maybe the opposite applies - at least we had something to look at whilst SP dispensed the usual stream of incoherent platitudes which presumably you hear as folksy wisdom of the hills. I mean, do you really? God help us. Or you. -

by wobble inno active dub will read "crisis of conscience" by ray franz because it is "apostate".
now if it is truly apostate,in the sense of being scripturally wrong then the wt has had 20 years or more to expose it,same as if it is factually wrong.. if it is neither, then the wt has had 20 or so years to put their house in order,so reading it now,dubs should say "oh yea we've changed that,so no worries".
so why can't they read it now?.

How many of us have heard JWs slander Ray?
An elder once told me the following: "Ray started thinking too much of himself, so the Society kicked him out."
Nothing could be further from the truth. Why would this brother say such a thing? Probably because another elder had told him the same thing.
It gets repeated, over and over.
This can only be described as slander or harmful gossip.
However, since they feel that ex-members should be "hated", I suppose Ray is, in their book, fair game for charater assassination.
Disgusting.
