Where will you go?? Tell me some good JWD substitutes, please!
by Kudra ini know a bunch of you go to other sites and seems to have found ones that you like.
the only other one i have seen is jwo (before i found jwd) but hated it because all the threads were about, i don't know, rivalries between posters- almost nothing whatsoever on dirt on the wtbts, which was what i was looking for... .
that's the only other site i know of.

This thread has me wondering....was going to concerts taboo in your JW congregation?
I went to many concerts when I was a JW.

Do Bethelites dream of climbing the ladder?

is it even possible?
do parents who send their kids there secretely fantasize about it?

Being anointed is a requirement. All members of the GB are anointed.
(There are brothers serving on the various GB Committees that are not anointed. They do not vote, however.)

Amazon bends to Scientology
by Dogpatch inyou think jws have a lot of control over their followers?
what if the wt was capable of preventing not only their own victims from reading the truth, but succeeded in intimidating nearly every bookstore on the earth from carrying a book damaging to their cause?
scientology makes the wt look like mushy old men in diapers.

In regards to getting onto the GB, the answer would be 'No'.
GB members are likely to be non-Bethelites that are brought into Bethel to be observed and then asked to be on the GB.
Remember that all GB members must be of the anointed class. Very few Bethelites are anointed.
However, many Bethelites are climbing the organizational ladder. They aspire to become "Bethel speakers", being sent to Special Assembly Days and the like.

If Radiohead tickets go on sale down there, jump on them. Their shows are amazing.

"we are so close to the end cause morals are worse than ever"....NOT!
by oompa inmy jw-ex-wife told me this the other day...the one df'd three times and reproved twice that i know of (oh the irony of speaking of morals)...she was going on about evil movies and the violent cage boxing/wrestling events (sorry i forget the name of these).....well i went off!.....i asked her how can she say that when in jesus day and shortly after....the romans...in real life let huge animals devour humans as they tried to fight off the animals!.....and they watched real people hack each other to bits withs swords!.....and that in live plays people would have sex and such.....and these were open public events.....not things in dark warehouses in third world countries......she just got mad............oompa.
there was even "temple prostitutes" in the bible....now that could get me back to the meetings.

When you're sick do you...

yesterday my wife was sick with the stomach flu.
she was home with the baby and i ended up having to call out of work so that i could take care of the baby because she was sick.

(1) With some sickness, you won't have any choice. The actual influenza will put you in the bed for at least 48 hours. Many stomach viruses can be so severe, a person may be on their back and/or very weak for 24 hours. Food posioning can last even longer. Migraine headaches can incapacitate folks. Severe muscle spasms/back problems and other discomforts can make going to work almost impossible.
(2) The health of your co-workers is of utmost importance. If you are coughing/sneezing with a fever, or you have a contagious stomach flu, it would be very inconsiderate to work close to others. If you're in business for yourself, working outdoors or you're a truck driver, you may be able to persever and not affect others. It upsets me when co-workers come to work and they are visible ill with something that is likely contagious.
