  How did you break the news to your parents?

  so one of the things both me and my wife are faced with is breaking the news that we've stopped going to meetings to our parents.

  my wifes parents could go either way, they have made several critical remarks of the wt over the years, while my parents are die hard jw's.

  i tossed the idea around of sending a letter or doing a phone call or just not saying anything.. we've decided that were just tired of having to hide our true feelings and play pretend.

  there were also studies that have shown rates of extramarital sex as low as 2.5%.as many authors conclude, these kinds of estimates are probably understated because extramarital sex is commonly disapproved.. .

  Feature films are usually shot (and projected) at 24 frames per second. So, yes, you will definitely notice a difference if you attend a screening of the 48fps version. The 24fps is what gives all feature films (since the 1920's) their dream-like quality. Are you familiar with what soap operas on TV look like, and how this look contrasts with feature films at the theater?

  my wife ask me if im going to make up the assmebly, i reminder her that i in clean conscience can not go anymore,as soon as the word anymore came out the tears started flooding.

  it hurts me to see her like this.

  i talked to her calm trying to explain why i cant worship with doctrine that is so clearly wrong.

  I would suggest that you try a different tea if you don't like the taste.

  Regular black tea with honey and lemon is pretty good for beginners, IMHO.

  I normally drink tea with no milk or sugar. Bigelow 'Constant Comment', 'Chai', Green Tea, Earl Grey, and some Chinese Jasmin tea are among the recent ones I've purchased.

  i usually get a message once every 2 months..

  1975 - A weak argument?

  i posted this on an older thread, but i wanted to get an honest opinion about this from all of you.

  i think taking the 1975 approach with a jw is...weak.

  was it wrong (and false prophetic) of them?

  Cult members are only allowed to believe what their leaders tell them to believe.

  So, ask yourself this question: Why did JWs believe 1975 would mark the End of the World? (We know they did believe this, because a large percentage of them left the organization after 1975 came and went.)

  Did they get this 1975 idea from a religious source outside of the WT organization? Of course not. They're not allowed to read outside literature. Were they attending church services somewhere other then the Kingdom Hall and JW assemblies and conventions? Of course not, this is forbidden.

  So, where did they get this crazy idea about 1975?

  To me, the answer is self-evident. The idea came straight from Brooklyn.

  you can read the yahoo news story.

  as a problem for wt "theology", there are currently only about 70 supercentenarians, that is people still alive over the age of 110.. there are now only six people still alive that are 113 years old or older.
