  How far does the shunning go for you, by your JW parents or children?

  my dad is a jw, trying to reach out to be an elder again......also pioneering.

  i saw my cousin , his nephew , the other nite at the dance club......i told him i havent seen my dad, nor heard from him in almost 2 years.

  he said he saw him a while back but that he heard he moved.. last time i talked to my dad, it was over me not going to the circuit assembly he was trying to get me to go to.

  My point is , my dad left no word for me, he left no number, didnt call to at least tell me goodbye , if one of us should die,,,,,, so be it, kiss off , nothing. If something terrible was to happen to him , to me, my sister or his grandchildren, he doesnt want to know, and he doesnt want me to know about him.

  Sorry to hear this. The coldness of some because of the WT is astounding. Family ties should be strong, it really takes a CULT controlled mind and a CULT cold heart to act like this.

  Alone in a house full of people

  for those of you still married to a jw...have you ever felt like you were living alone even tho there is a person on the other side of the bed?

  i sure do...he has this whole "secret life" and all his jw friends and jw relatives and wont have anything to do with my friends or my relatives, even tho most of them never were jws....so we dont do anything together as a couple.

  i mean zip.

  From experience, though not all are the same, I was very similar to you husband in action. I hated going to meetings but thought it was still the truth, that’s where the double life comes in. He may resent the bad light, he perceives, you put him in within his congregation. I was an elder at the time and when your wife leaves the witness’s only one can survive: loyalty to the witness organization or the marriage, both together in the long run are nearly impossible. Both were lost in my case and I don’t miss either now, however it was not always that easy.
  
  
  If you want to save the marriage tell him you need time with him and do not accept no for an answer. Use any subtle persuasive means you can to keep him away from the meetings (yes you will be playing Satan) he has to stop hearing the mind control reinforcement to see the lies there.

  What Results When JW's Associate ONLY With Fellow JW's?

  i clearly see that jw's are constantly being told to only associate with fellow believers if at all humanly possible.

  there is to be either no association or at the minimum, very little socializing with non-witnesses.

  in your opinion, what does this produce?

  "Special Blue Envelopes"

  been reading some boe letters that mention "special blue envelopes" evidently used for judicial correspondence between the society and the congregations.. frankly, i had never even heard of them before.. any former elders out there want to describe them for me?

  (yeah i know they are "special" and they are "blue" .

  more importantly, are there any former bethelites that can describe the process or treatment of these at hq?.

  Yes I have a reaction when someone hates my being because I was born here (US and Happy to be) , I wouldn't call it "knee jerk" I'd call it a self preservation reaction. I doubt you know all the details either as to the actual treatment of any prisoners any where unless you are the jailer.

  Yes Ho, but serial killers would kill you, your family, or anyone you knew just because they are serial killers, and serial killers are afforded human rights and Constitutional protections. I find it hard to see what justification the USA’s government has for their actions when they would rain fire on anyone who treated USA nationals in the same fashion.

  As to seriel killers if I had an idea who it was before a strike I'd prevent it if possible, wouldn't you? I take the same view as to "illegal combatants" many were caught with: weapons,bombs,money,or plans to kill Americans. I must state I'm happy they are being held and I don't want them here or anywhere they can do any harm. As to the rain of US fire onto opposers if I disagree with my governments policy I'll vote against it in the next free election.

  most of early friday morning was standard watchtower fare...you know, "wear your lapel badge to restaurants and preach to waiters" etc.

  but there was some good meat later in the morning during the talk "glorious prophetic visions spur us on".

  one point i found interesting was that only the annointed saw christs acsension to heavenly rulership in 1914. no one else.

  Perhaps you would like to stand guard yourself in Guantanomo Bay to make sure they do everything correctly.

  I may not know all the details of this camp, however I do believe the most of the Islamic prisoners there would kill me, my family, or anyone I know just to prove their point because I happen to be from the US.

  Do you know of any reasonable short term with long term lasting affects solutions to such a delima for me, my family, any one I know, or anyone els from the US? I don't, but would like to here something.

  back in 1991, a young brother maybe 18 years old living next to my place committed suicide.

  his father expected him to be very zealous just like he was, but the son never wanted to be like that.

  he was always controlled by his father.
