  i wanted to share an experience and see if any of had a similar expereince when you were a jw.

  right before i started doubting, i had gone to "stars on ice" with an elders wife , we had dinner first and we ended up getting drunk.

  smashed might be a better word choice.

  Question from Readers, date?

  i need help locating the wt magazine that had a question from readers answer stating the tempting of jesus was a parable.

  it was some time around may 2001. .

  any help would be appreciated.. hcm

  1961 I had no idea it went back that far. I had mentioned this to a witness friend who asked some current elders, they all answered that it was literal. They must read a lot hey?

  Are you saying below that Ray Franz revealed truth about the Bible? If so why is the truth he revealed any less valid now? Including what was revealed about the organization in his books, the inner workings of the WT are abysmal and don't appear to be improving.

  Yes I remember being told, with no written letter for reference, about ditching files quickly.
  We had a plan to play a shell game with the files if any authorities came knocking. Sad state of affairs, I'll never miss it and just shake my head when I think of how duped I was.

  Welcome Chainsaw;

  Good choice to check on your boyfriends religion. One example I can give you is: pick a Saturday when normal people could be enjoying them selves and put on a long skirt ,dowdy shoes and walk to peoples doors and tell them they can live forever if they listen to the WT dogma. What you will not tell them (this is the real tricky part) they all will die ,even the babies every one that does not listen to them and ONLY them. Do this for the rest of your life and expect to shun any family or friends that leave the WT. Control! You haven't seen anything yet.

  Kingdom Hall Apartments Must be Vacated!

  just wondering if anyone heard about the letter that was sent out to all congregations whose kh have an apartment attached to it.

  the edict from bethel was that these apartments were to be vacated a.s.a.p.

  the reason: so retiring do's & co's with no place to go could occupy them.

  Hey Dissie;

  I have a copy of that letter, it was my impression that there were to many problems with calling money given rent or donation. They went to calling it donations and I believe many were not paying as expected. That happened here and you know who that was. Also calling it rent turned the local elder body into landlords and they went to town with that one. It's just a scam by the WT to relieve themselves of problems such as taxes or an apostate (heheh) taking over the KH and having wild sex parties going on with a meeting in session. They would have lost most of the congregation to the sex party. With no oral or anal of course.

  The C.O. and elder came to my house last night!

  please tell me i made the right decision.

  last night the co and another elder showed up at our house just 5 minutes after my husband got home from work (i think they were sitting on the side of the road just waiting for him to come home)*stalkers*, anyway to make along story short, the pressure was on.

  i felt like they were there to get us to da ourselves.

  Sorry to hear your so upset.
  Scare tactics like this are from horrible men from a horrible organization.

  The sad truth is he's right if your family follows the WT rules. Treat them the same as you have always been. You need not play by their rules any longer and will feel better knowing it is not you that is enforcing the cruel shunning policy. I time you might win some of your family over.
