wow - finally!.
after several months of reading this forum daily, i'm finally registered and able to post!
i know many of you well from reading current threads almost daily since last summer.
I remember being at the watchtower study the sunday that we studied the 1995 change. I remember going to the meeting very exiced because my dad told me there was new info coming out. After the meeting there was a buzz in the croud talking about it. They the next meeting we were back to normal.
No big deal - we were not wrong after all - we just needed a new understanding.

I was flying @ 30,000 feet, and I was looking out the window and I starting thinking.
Mt Everest = 29,035 Feet
Genesis 7:19,20
So the water went up 29,035 feet to cover Mt Everest. (tallest mt. on earth)
It was raining for 40 days = to 960 Hours. 29,035 feet x 12 inches = 348,420 inches. 348,420 inches / 960 Hours = 362.9 inches of rain per hour. (Have you ever been in a storm with over 3 inches per hour let alone 362 inches?
That means that the water was right next to the height of the airplane that I was flying in. Next time you are on a plane just think about that, also look at the clouds below.

19 And the waters overwhelmed the earth so greatly that all the tall mountains that were under the whole heavens came to be covered. 20 Up to fifteen cubits the waters overwhelmed them and the mountains became covered.

fred franz was known for giving weird talks in the sense that he would pronounce words in a strange ways, ramble on for extended periods, and exceed the allotted time for speaking.
he violated most of the rules in the "theocratic school" book for giving talks.. it is even said he gave a public prayer once at a convention that went on for 20 minutes!.
why wasn't fred franz counciled concerning his public speaking like everyone else is in the congregations when they give their talks?.

Or does one become beyond being counciled if one gets high enough in The Watchtower Organization?
I know that this is true all the "bethel speakers" went way over their time. I know this because the only notes that I ever kept track of was how much time is left at the convention.

this is a quote from the young people ask answers that work book.. .
marijuanaanewwonderdrug?.
there has been much ado over claims that marijuana may have therapeutic value in treating glaucoma and asthma and in easing the nausea that cancer patients experience during chemotherapy.
This is a quote from the Young People Ask – Answers that work book.
Marijuana—A NewWonderDrug?
There has been much ado over claims that marijuana may have therapeutic value in treating glaucoma and asthma and in easing the nausea that cancer patients experience during chemotherapy. A U.S. Institute of Medicine report acknowledges that there is some truth to these claims. But does this mean that in the near future doctors will be prescribing marijuana cigarettes?
Not likely, for while some of marijuana’s over 400 chemical compounds may prove useful, smoking marijuana would hardly be the logical way to take such medicines. “Using marijuana,” says noted authority Dr. Carlton Turner, “would be like giving people molded bread to eat to get penicillin.” So if any marijuana compounds ever become bona fide medicines, it will be marijuana “derivatives or analogues,” chemical compounds similar to them, that doctors will prescribe. No wonder, then, that the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services wrote: “It should be emphasized that possible therapeutic benefits in no way modify the significance of the negative health effects of marijuana.”
I guess that they were off on that one.

...and it was a doozy!.
don't you just love it when someone commenting on a paragraph loses track and actually comments on the next paragraph that hasn't been covered yet?.
today, at our meeting, the co did just that.. in case you haven't seen it yet, today's article is the infamous "i did not have sex with that woman" article in the february 15th issue.
sacolton "What about Cleveland Steamers? Did he mention those?"
Great family guy episode.
