  i have a problem.

  i knew this would come up but what has me questioning myself is where some of my resistance is coming from.. my wife and i have a baby on the way in nov. (a little girl) anyway my mom immediately started applying pressure to me to go back to meeting and of course to attend the convention.

  Watchtower's inconsistent use of "day for a year" principle

  the watchtower applies the "day for a year" principle when calculating the 7 times in daniel 4: 23,25 for their 607bce - 1914ce chronology (a time = 360 years based on rev 11:3, 12:6 and 13:5.

  7 times = 2520 years).. however, they do not use the "day for a year" principle for interpreting daniel 12:11 (1290 days), daniel 12:12 (1335 days) and daniel 8:14 (2300 days).

  i believe that early on, c t russell viewed the 1290, 1335 & 2300 days as years and made some predictions based on calculating these periods from starting dates related to the catholic papacy.

  Jerusalem destroyed 607 or 586/7?

  let's try this again...most of us are aware that all available evidence points to the time of jerusalem's destruction at the 586/7bc time frame.

  overwhelming evidence includes astronomical phenomena, achaeological evidence, bank records, the bible itself.. some hold to 607bc, for obvious reasons- the implications it has.

  thoughts on how this would effect the average witness if forced to conclude 607 is wrong?

  I love the 360 day - 365.25 day thing.

  So you are telling me that Jehovah set up the prophecy to include the Jewish year (360 days) for the 2520 calculation even though he created the planet earth to have a 365.25 day year.

  He went with what mans definition of a year was at the time.
