  Someone in my family died this week - I am not doing well

  so i am sitting here crying, i am a pretty emotional guy.

  i have been a witness all my life, so this is so hard.

  first, this is my immediate family.

  Please accept my sincerest sympathy. I too have been through this, losing my husband on December 11, 1990 and my mother on December 27, 1990 - 16 days apart. BUT, we survive and I think that there is an inner protective device that kicks in when you really need it most. You will get through this. You must never sink into any feelings of guilt! Please remember this and reflect on good memories shared by both of you. Take it one day at a time, it does get better.

  Would/should a JW sell their Xmas decorations/ornaments for $?

  i wonder how this would be viewed -- a jw or "new one" selling for $$ their xmas stuff at a garage sale or other.

  would they be wrong in profiting financially and/or propogating the celebration of christmas?

  donating to a thrift store?

Would they be wrong in profiting financially and/or propogating the celebration of Christmas? Donating to a thrift store? If so, what thrift store could they donate to? Many are religious, etc.

  i have been debating on how best to get the word out about jws and the wts... i have thought about blogs... but i just can't get myself to create the blog... and my youtube videos that i colaborated on with v have been successful on youtube... i have received many comments, and some inquiries from active jws based on the video.

  .

  i have created an introductory video that will give some background and you can see my style... i am also looking for constructive feedback... at the moment i am using windows movie maker, so the graphics are pretty cruddy, i apologize... if you know of a cheap or free movie editor that would be great.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtdmkgfxml4.

  Kingdom Hall Interiors

  so i drove by my old kingdom hall the other day and noticed that it had a for sale sign in front of it.

  this came as no surprise to me, as i knew that they recently won approval to build a new kingdom hall in a neighboring town.

  (caused a bit of a stir in town - but that's a different story).

  i heard that the paper used in printing the green bible was cigarette paper!?!?

  Did you SAVE money by using a hotel on the recommended lodging list?

  i haven't seen this question posted here before, but did any of you who stayed at one of the hotels on the society's recommended lodging list save money than if you attended a hotel not on the list?.

  having seen a few of these lists, it seems the rates given are expensive..

  I was a young single sister travelling alone, by bus, no car to the San Francisco DA back in the late 60's. I had flown into Sacramento from the East Coast to visit relatives, then they put me on a bus to San Francisco. The Society had made my reservations at the Civic Center Hotel -- no longer there. No elevator, air, etc.etc. BUT the worst part of it was a shared bathroom down the hall with all the other guests. The neighborhood looked very unsafe to me -- around the Civic Center and on Market Street. I returned to the check-in desk and promptly checked out. I hauled my suitcases down Market until I came to the Cable Car which took me up to the Sir Francis Drake. Fortunately, they had a room, not much more expensive than the other one and just 2 blocks to where the bus picked you up to take you to the assembly...also a much safer place to stay. I often wondered if they took into consideration on my rooming request form that I was female, age 19 and travelling alone. It never made sense to me.

  Regarding Paragraph 10 ...imitate or mimic ...pronounciation or speech patterns ...

  How about all the overbearing and pompous clones that imitate and mimic the most fluent speaker? They sound "full of themselves", look down at others, speak with "authority" ... even to the point of imitating their mannerisms, etc. It is usually the younger ones aspiring for theocratic advancement within the Cong. Anyone else notice this?

  (I found it sickening.)

  they were going to sbux i stopped to talk and told them my mom was dying of cancer.

  they said they were sorry to here that and i said, tongue in cheek, i was delighted because she would have been destroyed by jehvoah anyway and that would have been a lot more painful and frightening way to go and those dufuses agreed with me.

  I am sorry to hear about your mother. My mother died of ovarian cancer almost 20 years ago. After her memorial service, there were many comments that I felt were outrageous or out of line. It is good you "stopped them in their boots" by your comment. Stay strong!
