Yes on all acounts. I hated myself so much because I could never do enough. And I was so tired of waiting on Jehovah to take care of problem in his own time. You Jehovah allows bad thing to go on because he is testing us. The pedophiles were the last straw. No God would allow that.

Did You Expect Perfection From Jehovah's Witnesses?
by minimus in....either from others or yourself?.
were you regularly disappointed when the elders, brothers or sisters didn't measure up to what they were preaching?.
did you actually believe "the truth" was 100% true?.

3 - Page 30 - Watching The World - the infamous Pew Forum survey about 44% of adults having changed religious viewpoint. What about same report saying only 37% of born-ins remain JW's, making them the highest turnover religion out there? hmmmm - more selective quoting....
I just have to add when this study came out eveyone in my hall was jumping for joy over it. So I went home and read it on the internet well no one mentiond the turnover rate????? So the next time anyone mentioned the study to me I made sure to tell them about the trun over rate. Soon no one mentioned it to me anymore. Wonder why????

When we were first married my husband was the only elder and no MS's in the hall. Plus we lived 45 mins for the hall and lived on $200.00 a month which my husband made so with in the first month of marraige I found a job. Hubby felt Jehovah would pick up what ever the $200.00 did not cover. Well you guessed it Jehovah never did so I worked and when I was not out pioneering or working I was either sitting in the car waiting on hubby or sitting in the KH waiting on hubby. We could not afford for me to drive home because of said lack of money which did I metion Jehovah never picked up the slack. So we had no dinners together no time together at all as newly weds. I am still so bitter looking back 21 years all that I gave up and for what a bunch of people who hated me in the hall. Something was wrong with that hall thus no one normal stayed and thus the CO begged and begged my husband to move to where the need was great to the help Jehovah before we were married. By the way did I mention Jehovah never helped us. I was so stupid at the time before we got married I believed Jehovah would help us after all we were putting him first. Now I know Jehovah never wanted that. How stupid was I.

As a JW Were you Counseled on Grooming, your Dress or Hair Styles ?
by flipper injust another controlling feature of a mind controlled cult.
they always dictate that everyone should look like clones of one another - the same.
from early on i remember my elder dad in the late 1970's telling me as a teenager , " you are an elders son ; little brother jimmy over there looks up to you as an example.

When we were first married I mean only about six months I was with my husband for a walk through at the assembly and the DO just lit into him about his shrit becasue it was not white. Here my husband had been an elder for well over 12 years at the time but this DO right in front of me just ripped him to shreads saying what was he thinking and being an elder for so long that he should have known better. I felt so sorry for for my husband. We had to go home for him to change a drive of over 45 min's one way. Nither of us said a word the whole drive. The DO we just had 15 years latter would wear all kinds of different kinds of shrits, there was one that I thought looked really stupid blue striped. Most of this DO's shrits were not white. And he had been a DO for at least 20 plus years. I would keep pointing out his shrits to my husband because I felt so hurt at that DO who ripped into my him. My husband kept telling Jehovah would take care of it in his own time and he had fogetten all about that shrit thing with the DO anyway. I cannot believe my husband sometimes. When will he ever wake up!!!!!!
I was also counseled in front of a CO and three elders by another elders wife because my nipples were showing through my top. It was a warm summer day and I was standing in the parking lot. I had on a top on that was really two big for me. Well I guess when the wind came by it made my top hit the offending area and my one nipple showed. She took me aside and said I needed padded bra's etc like I was some stupid teenagers who did not know how to dress right here I was 42 years old. I just turned beet red and all the men just started looking at me wondering what was going on. I just wanted to crawl under one of the cars. I almost all of the time were things that are a little to big for me. I hate tight things just me. I remember just looking at the stupid sister like you have got to me kidding me. She is the wife of an MST school grad and she thinks she is in charge. Anyway three years latter it still makes me mad. The way she told me was so horrible, such a put down.

Has your " Self Esteem " Improved After Leaving Jehovah's Witnesses ?
by flipper init seems to be an issue that some have after leaving the witness cult because none of us were ever made to feel we were " good " enough or "valued " enough for what we were trying to accomplish in the cult.
growing up i had pounded into my head by my jw elder father what jesus said, " after doing all things remember you are good for nothing slaves , what we have done is what we ought to have done.
" then i thought to myself - " where's the joy in that ?

Trust in Jehovah in these hard economic times--but send us money
by Bonnie_Clyde inclyde has heard from two sources that a letter was read at the meeting last week.
after encouragement to trust in jehovah, they suggested that each publisher send about $5.70 to the society each month to help support the organization.
that's the way he heard it.

Yes passwordprotected it was read at the meeting Tuseday night. Two $ amounts were asked for one for the CO"s inc and one for the Kingdom Halls. One was for $5.00 something and the other was for $8.00 something. Like Bondie said they do this every year so it is nothing new. But unlike all the other years the letter was really strong I felt. Maybe it was because I have found this place and know more last year I still believed, I know I know how stupid was I. But they went on and on and on in the letter about how hard pressed the friends are getting in this very hard times with the friends getting laid off, 401 plains being lost, yad yad yad and they just fell all over themselfs with how they understand all the sufffering that the friends are going through but for thoese who are not then maybe they could help those who are suffering with paying more this is because Jehovah is with us.
I asked my husband if he heard what I did and he just zones out. He is still a die hard JW and an elder but no he said same letter as last year. I am like no it was not it was very different I felt really begging way more than normal. I was blown away. I looked at my husband and thought when will you wake up and yes that was a good point of how much of this is going to pay for last years lawsuits. Very good point. Thankfully I do the bills in my family and since I have found out about the lawsuits and even before this I found this sight they have been getting $00.00 form me. Same with this new begging for money. I guess they will have to get it from one of the better off friend they refured to. Oh Well. Jehovah always provides right!!!!

The Culability of Jehovah's Witnesses and Pedophilia
by AllTimeJeff inthe subject of pedophilia and the sexual abuse of children often is complicated.
by that i don't mean that it is complicated to know how to deal with pedophiles.
they have a despicable problem in their minds and need to be identified and controlled for all children's sake as well as for their own sake.

"But there are always new ones coming in"
by Farkel inif you've read, seen and heard as many sickening statements uttered by watchtower leaders as i have, you'll probably agree you tend to get jaded by them after a while:.
russell claiming his books were more important than the bible.
rutherford boasting that armageddon coming in 1925 was as certain as the flood of noah and virtually "indisputable.".

This also reminds me of when I was at Bethel. My overseers hated so many of the brothers there one of his saying was that 70 percent were there for the free stuff like food and shalter. I was just blown away. Like that was so great. My overseer did not care about anyone. He hated most of the brothers. He hated me. It is all so sad. It caused me so much pain even till this day. I wanted to service Jehovah not the free stuff like he said.
