  scans of WT pubs from 1946-1980 torrent anyone?

  i just received the scans of 1879-1946 on torrent, and it didnt take long at all.

  does anyone have the remaining ones available?

  the earlier ones are great, but i would like to focus on the 1965-1975 era.

  today me and my friend went to lunch, while we were waiting to pay a guy made some small talk with us.

  well as i went to pay he swatted my card away and paid for both me and my friend.

  he said something along the lines of, "you boys look like you work hard it's on me".

  random acts of kindness without even mentioning anything having to do with witnesses was common here -- but also there was the knowledge that perhaps one day they would see us at their door one day..

  it is the law that we must change - no choice.

  yet look at the new disaster this creates!

  so i start thinking about all my "privileges.

  " i went to mts, took 600 pages of notes, went to my assignment, i am still serving under the mts program.

  for a few years until my circumstances changed.

  dude, your life hasnt been fake at all, you ran into some snags and now maybe you need to make some desicions.
  
  i suggest you glean some info from the minority of reasonable, nice people here -
  
  and watch donnie darko
  
  and then
  
  "what the bleep" - down the rabbit hole. (or perhaps "waking life" also)
  
  and dont forget to study a bible, even tho the NWT is fine - i would suggest perhaps a parallel bible to compare. :)
  
  if you feel that these things are good, go with them -- if you feel there is something wrong, then question and doubt and research. I would suggest doing that even if it feels good. The search for God does not have to end ;)

  Congregation Get-Togethers: In or Out?

  i was reading redpill2006's post and i noticed that some mentioned that get-togethers or parties have been largely discouraged.

  i stopped attending meetings in 2003/2004 and i remember my congregation still had get-togethers, although they were few and far between.

  they were not completely discouraged though, has this changed?

  i was in from 1997-2006 and there were increasingly more and more get togethers. I have never had so much fun.

  What does your congregation do socially now?

  if you're still in or hear about jw social activities through the grapevine, what does your congregation do now socially?.

  my hall does absolutely - nothing - with the exception of high school graduations.

  i read a few posts about jw socialising in the 70s and 80s and honestly, reading about it is completely foreign to me - i grew up in the 80s and never experienced the "good times" of jwdom.. it seems most people do their own thing.

  the number of my books in academic libraries.

  i have authored several scholarly books and monographs about the jehovahs witnesses.

  my books and articles on the watchtower and related topics are found in hundreds of university, college and other libraries, and have also been translated into 12 languages.
