  one thing that always got me upset -- .

  sisters wearing pantyhose all year round?

  brothers or sisters frowned upon for wearing snowpants whilst going outside in snowstorms or incidences of high snow (quite often in the mountains of pa) .

  Do active JW's on this forum still practice shunning?

  what is the motivation do so?

  is it to save face or relationships?

  even though im disfellowshipped, technically you still arent supposed to talk to other disfellowshipped people (where this idea is from i dont know) -0- but i regularly talk to 2 disfellowshipped friends of mine (one disassociated) and an "apostate" friend of mine from WAY back from before i even knew of witnesses and realized he used to be one.

  Is There ANYTHING More Monotonous Than Living As A JW?

  i look back and think of how mindless, boring and dumb it all was.

  .

  i think of having to sit at mind numbing meetings, bored to tears, making believe i was enjoying the fine spiritual banquet.. i think of how we used to drive around in "service" looking for nothing to do----just so that we could put our time in---hoping that no one was home.. everyone had to conform to direction and whims of elders or the society.. i am soooooooooo glad i'm out!.

  yeah, there were some boring meetings for sure, but the association was great, i had alot of good friends, we always did stuff after the meetings... service was always interesting, again, sometimes i dreaded it, but I always felt better after each meeting and each day in service...
  
  That being said, the memories are now bittersweet due to the stuff that happened to me that lead up to me being disfellowshipped --
  
  but im not going to deny my good experiences just because im hurt from the situation.
