  How the Watchtower MELTDOWN fits in the stream of time

  from puritan times there was an urge to expand the kingdom of god on earth by creating as many communities of christians as possible.. this was to be done by setting a "pure" example of utopian harmony.

  a "shining city on a hill" with a beacon of light for all nations to see.. perfectionism and personality development was key.. .

  it was to be christianity by example!.

  Watchtower = Elders can disfellowship people for being too FAT!!! Has this happened?

  watch 1974 p.167 "by disobediently overindulging in food and making a glutton of himself, he fails to show love for jehovah...if in the presence of others does he selfishly ignore there needs and take more than his share?

  is he grossly overwieght but shows no restraint at all as to food, habitually gorging himself?

  does he feel un-comfortable, perhaps even sick because of eating too much ...glutton has no place in god's congregation...they will not inherit god's kingdom...".

  I know for a fact, from first hand conversation with the elder that he was not appointed a CO because he and his wife were considered overweight. He was and I would venture to say continues to be a substitute.

  New Light @ The 2011 District Convention

  " at the bottom of the image on the back of the invitation raises some eyebrows, but last night in the routine district convention article during the service meeting, i caught that one of the paragraphs mentioned that we would be encouraged to keep a copy of the tract in hand for a discussion during sunday's last talk.

  my guess is, there is going to be some new revelation about what the "?

  " represents, or some other fangled idea.

  Why the hell can't you say anything at the crematorium, it ain't no kingdom hall. She was your sister for crying outload. If anybody gets up and walks out, the embarrassment will be on them. Then again if it is all witnesses there then they all might depart.

  But you could say a few NICE things non-JW or apostate related that might make a the rememberance of her more special for those in attendance.

  there are 2 classes of ex Jehovahs witnesses

  hi im part of a group of ex jh,s, we meet for drinks and dinner, go to football games.many of the guys do drugs,(i dont, i like sport) , most live very hedonistic lifestyles, lets leave it at that,(im happily married).

  my point is, when i left, i was honest, and got df,d.

  now im experiencing the same kind of shit that i experieced in the hall, the ex jw,s are just as judgemental, and stupid as when they were at the kingdom hall, for eg you were df,d we were not,it doesnt matter to them, that their doing coke and getting into group sex.

  Responding to many of the posts, some or most, whatever your perception is, need that center or moral compass the WTBTS offers.

  Unfortunately, those that "go crazy" when they leave give the rest of us a bod name.

  And what is even worse are those that return and tell them now horrible it was out there and they just had to come back to Jehovah.

  This design in the WTBTS doctrine is very much on purpose so the errant one has no other options but to return to the Kingdom Hall in order to have some semalence of a life.

  Only those who can get out and make new friends who are comparable to them in their true morals can survive. Some people do let their hair down for a time after exiting, but if they can get their feet under them and really find so people on the outside whom they clock with can and do survive. This message board I am sure has helped many.

  i have $10 sears gift card for tools, but i am not sure which tool that i would be interested to purchase.

  Yeah a good rule of thumb is "don't buy cheap tools, they only make the job harder or you wind up damaging something that you have to replace which could have been avoided....if you weren't a cheapo when it comes to tools."

  I hate cheap tools if you can't tell. Been there done that to many times. The right tools for the job make it 100%, unequivocally, without-a-doubt an easier DIY project.

  Got the personal Memorial invite last night.

  we were sitting on the patio out the back of the house having acouple of drinks before we went out for a meal, i can't eat on an empty stomach, have to have a drink first !.

  the doorbell rang, i answered it, and it was a "sister" i have known all my 61 years of life, with a mem.

  invite in her hand, i told her to keep it, we already had one.

  Has anybody ever listened to his show? I have came across him on a couple of trips on the highway and shows like his make for good comedic entertainment, especially the people who call in.
