So proud of my kitten
by Newborn injust have to share with you how proud i am of my little java.
she's been so brave her first night with me.
she eats, goes to her toilet, playes and she's so diligent with cleaning herself.. she comes from a place with many cats so of course she walks around and cries after her friends but as soon as i call her she comes running to be close to me.

Could The Tragic Death of Our First Child Be Why My Wife is Still a JW?
by lifelong humanist inafter 6 years since i dad myself, it has just dawned on me today, that my jw wife is (probably) only still involved with her jw religion because of her religious belief in a resurrection back to life on a 'paradise earth'!.
let me please explain - our first child was a wee girl, born in 1972. her name was joanna.
she was a great, intelligent, healthy child and we were both proud parents with a marvellous hope - a 'jw' certified version of the future ahead of us!.

Dear lifelong h,
I can't imagine the pain of loosing a child. I'm sorry you've had to experience this tragic loss. It may well be the reason (or one of the reasons) for your wife to stay in the org. Is it possible for you to discuss it with her or is it just too sensitive for you both? Is she a very strong JW or has she at some points vented any doubts?
What people seem to forget is that just because you leave the JW cult you can still keep your faith. It may look and be different but any faith will always be comforting.
Perhaps leaving the org would just be too painful for her which I can understand...just dealing with the fact that we ourselves will die one day can be tough to handle when you've believed you'll live forever your whole life.
well just some thoughts from me

WHY am I the last to know?
by babygirl30 inabout 2 mos ago...my parents decided that because i refused to continue my 'reinstatement' process and quit going to meetings - that they were now going to shun me after having regular contact for 10 mos!
i was upset, but accepted it.
although their method was harsh!

That's very sad sweetie. I'm sorry you have to go thru this...their loss...we can only hope they'll come to their senses one day.

by Newborn inapparently jack barr, member of the gb, has given a new interpretation of the generation in one of his speaches i.e.
that the generation can apply to those who knew someone who lived in 1914..... will it never end????

Isn't Jack himself born 1800 something...so maybe he's not aware of what he says anymore??
Interesting to see if it will be printed in the WT.

Hi - new kid on th block
by nearlyfree ini have been looking at this website for about 2 months now and feel i am now ready to say hi and intoduce myself.i dont want to give out too much info at this point in time as i still am in the org, but have only been to 2 meetings since the district convention in august and last time i went out on service was in march.
i was basically raised in the truth as my parents became jw when i was 2. i was married in my late teens and after 21 years of being married to a total control freak he left me (yay).
anyway since me ex left, i had been doing a lot of thinking about being a witness, and i wasnt really going to a lot of meetings - just didnt feel like it.

I dont know if any of you felt a sense of exitement or anticipation of what your life will be like when no longer a witness, but that is how i feel.
OOOOOOHHH YESSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Should I Formally Apologize?
by lifelong humanist inwhat do you members think - is there any mileage in 'formally' apologizing to my 4 sons (now aged 20 - 34) of my stupid jw indoctrination during their formative years?
i still have pangs of guilt.
yet, on balance, i have to admit that it couldn't have been too damaging as they are all totally out of the cult.

often wonder why it took me so long to see through my own indoctrination into the JW version of christianity!
boy! you can say that again! I think we all here feel the same way.
I'm a 35 y old daughter of a previous elder dad...who so regrets he brought us up in the cult...however I don't blame him at all for that...he did what he thought was best for us at the time and I did chose myself to get baptist, become pioneer etc (even though I more or less had no choice). He's so happy I'm out now and hopefully waiting for my sister to see the light also.
I don't think your sons blame you either. I'm sure they don't expect an apology but if you feel you want to give them one I think they will understand.
Congrats to that all your kids are out!!

Dear Loubelle, Belle sounds lovely too (named after you?).
Java also loves people. I had two friends over yesterday and I wasn't sure if she would hide or not but she instantly ran to them and slept in my friends lap all evening.
I never thought I would become so attached to her so quickly. She's really my baby and I love her. today I 'll get a radio that I can leave on when I'm at work. I'm so afraid she's miserable when home alone
