  When you realized that it was all a lie.. how did you cope?

  i realized about a year ago after much lurking here, that the truth was in fact a lie.

  it rocked me to my core to come to the understanding that everything that i have been taught, believed in and taught people myself was in fact not true.

  when you are a born in like myself, the teachings of the wts become all you know.

  I know what you mean. But their "defense" to this is to say something like, The WT doesn't claim to be inspired only spirit directed. Yeah I know it sounds screwy and everytime I hear it I want to scream at the top of my voice,"What the hell does that mean?" (Like the Spirit is going to direct them to print some erroneous teaching that will need correcting in the future).

  But thats their "get out of jail free" card they like to invoke. By saying they don't claim to be inspired or infallible that's suppose to give them the right to print anything they want no matter how wrong,ridiculous or crazy sounding it is, and then adjusting it as the case may be with "new light".

  especially if the older partner has a serious medical condition that could result in stroke or heart disease and the younger person is healthy.

  Yes but there's also the chance that the older one could go out with a bang.

  What could be better than dying with a smile on your face?

  i'm asking because i just watched "the road".

  it may not be the saddest but it's up there.

  "my sister's keeper" was a real tearjerker too..

  I'll have to agree with Tatiana about "The Notebook". That was a sad movie. I was surprised it didn't come up sooner.

  A few other movies that I found to be sad for various reasons:

  The Bucket list

  Cool Hand Luke

  The Boy in the bubble- (John Travolta before he was a big star)

  and I know there's others but most of them have already been mentioned by others so no sense repeating them.

  The above comments are why women in their late 30's and 40's enjoy younger guys - all the men their own age are interested in the 20 somethings...

  I blame genetics,evolution, demons or anything that gets us guys off the hook.

  How would you define generation,

  But how would the WT define generation? According to them its an over-lapping generation.

  So in theory using their definition of generation, the cougar could be 90 and the prey be 20 and still be part of the same generation.

  Yeah I know it sounds screwy at first, but hey if it's in the WT it must be true right?

  Same way as I view my past. At some point in my past I didn't exist (or wasn't aware of it) and at some point in the future I won't exist.

  Just like all the ones that came before me, I know I was born and that I'll die. But the in-between time belongs to me.
