i have never been a jw, but i have lived literally surrounded by them since i married my wife, almost 20 years ago.

since i never raised a fuss before, i guess i was also brain-washed into thnking that their religion was harmless and the leaders were well intended.. i have been reading your comments for many months and have come to realize how harmful the religion is.

your comments have been mostly about the pain inflicted by shunning, deception in the literature, and the views on higher education.

You can go to members and click on the letter B then scroll for her name and read the bio she has provided there.

It is all about the blood issue and how it affected her family. I will not spoil it by telling you how it ends but will provide a link for you so that you can read for yourself. When I read it, I shed more tears that night than I had in many years.

The building he was giving this discourse in actually reminded me of a large kingdom hall or a small Assembly Hall.

When the camera at the end showed the audience it even looked like how the rows of chairs at the K.H. were arranged.

Kinda ironic in a Hitchens sorta way. :)

hmmm what I got underlined in the above scripture sure seems like what the WT society has done over the years, when they are walking after their own heart and spirit when there is nothing they have seen. Everytime they've "prophesied" something it has failed to come true. Do your history lesson on the Org and you can learn a lot. Such as the end of the system supposedly coming in 1914,1925,1975 and then before the turn of the century. Yes there's even more dates that they said but I just like to use the ones above because its so easy with them to show how misleading they actually were.

Now why don't you go read those scriptures again you asked us if we had read and then come back for more discussion.

Oh one more thing regarding the UN....the WT society was a NGO of the UN for years until it came out publicly, then they had to distance themselves. Research Watchtower NGO and you may even learn something.

hmmmm...after thinking this over I tend to agree that I like the mission statement but can see how some may be initially turned off by the name with "anti" in it when you think of "anti-Christ" etc.

To me a name with the same acronym but different words could draw even more to the cause.

Such as AAWA (Association Against Watchtower Abuse).

No one likes to hear of someone being abused in any way shape or form. Generally I've found that the word abuse grabs attention because others want to see why/how someone is experiencing abuse. Whether it be wife abuse,child abuse,drug abuse etc. it can make others take notice and want to see how another is being unfairly treated by some.

But that being said, I have to say the video in and of itself was superbly done IMO and have already been showing it to many family members and friends as well as put a link to it on a couple websites I frequent.

Keep up the good work and engaging in the fine fight to liberate and free the minds of many others.
