You are right, you should decide for yourself if the Witnesses teach the truth or not. I am a real Witness and enjoy being part of Jehovah's people.

Most of the people in this site are ex-witnesses and really hate the organization. It is unwise to listen to their negative comments. It's as if you were applying for a job and the employer wants to know your references in order see what kind of person you are. Would you give them a reference of a person that hates your guts? Of course not because it is biased and will probably exagerate anything that you've done in the past. No, the employer would want to hear from impartial folks that will give a true assessment of your abilities and personality.

It is the same in this case. The enemies of Jehovah's organization will not give any positive input. Study with Witnesses, ask questions, try to be logical and you will learn a lot about Jehovah's purpose and doing his will.

Celia: I feel the same way, I would like to grab the child molesters by the throat. But reality is different and I cannot execute anyone. Jehovah sees what's in the heart and he will make that call. I think that if there is a member of the congregation that has a past (as a child molester), he needs to be watched carefully and identified as such so that the parents can be careful and even instruct his children not to get near that person.

Then what should be done with child molesters?

Let's say a child molester is disfellowshipped from the congregation. I live in Texas, so in this state it is required that the child molester be turned into the authorities. The elders tell the child molester to turn himself in, which he does. He is given probation by the court. The child molester says he has repented. Of course the damage is done. What should be done with that person? Should the elders ever reinstate him if he asks for it? Will God ever forgive him?

I really want to know your opinion, this is not to test you or anything of that sort. I have my own views which I would like to compare to yours.

Why is it that apostates don't like to be stereotyped, yet you accuse all witnesses of being child molesters. You try to convey the idea that abuse goes on in all congregation. I'm not saying it has not happened, but it is dealt with according to the Bible and the land's laws (which differ from state to state). I have been in 6 different congregations and I have not seen one single case of child abuse. Don't stereotype every witness because of the actions of a few. Eventually Jehovah gives to those few what they deserve.

Why Japanese become JWs

i have posted some of the following info in various other threads i`ve.

started which touch on the matter of jws in japan.however,people continue to ask me `why japanese become jws?`,so i thought i`d put.

down a few of my observations for anyone who might be interested.. as you may or may not have noticed,japan has(had) the fifth largest number of jws in the world.

They study the Bible and decide to be baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses because:

1. Jesus set forth the example
2. They love Jehovah so much that they dedicate their lives to him.
3. They see guidance in the Bible
4. They want to change their sad lives as drunkards, fornicators, etc. to please god.
5. They are humble and accept that they need Jehovah's guidance in life.
6. They want to live forever on a paradise earth.

Oh, some here will post that they are being brainwashed, tricked into become Witnesses, but those are lies that are spread by Satan and it's agents. They will post how witnesses are false prophets, but in reality Jehovah's organization has made us better people. They will say that as Jehovah's organization they are now allowed to make mistakes, but they forget that Israel, Judah and the early Christian congregation were also Jehovah's organization and mistakes were made. Jehovah does not control every single things that the Organization does, overall time has shown that it has his backing.

Haven't you got anything better to do?

obviously a lot of you are no longer jws, for whatever reason, but surely you can find something better to do with your time.

you seem to spend a lot of your spare time slating the society or picking holes in your former beliefs.. if you've left and think what jws believe is a load of rubbish, thtat fine, you cn do what you want, but why you have to go on about it?

if being a jw means so little to you, why not just leave it behind and get on with your life?

The problem with apostates is that they do not do their own research. They visit and read postings in other apostate sites and believe every work they read. This is what they accuse real JW's from doing. They listen to bitter men such as Ray Franz and believe all their accusations. They would lead you to believe that these are humble men and great writers, but in reality these are used by Satan to fill good people with harmful doubts about Jehovah and the way he handles matters. Some of the apostates on this site are former elders that claim that everything they did was because they followed the Watchtower's way of doing things. The truth is that they were horrible elders, and for one reason or another they were removed. Because of their pride, they cannot accept that they were horrible elders that misused their power and took advantage of Jehovah's flock. Jehovah does not accept prideful people, so he removes his spirit from their lives. Because Jehovah's people will not listen to this, they try to find weak ones to believe all their bull and supposedly, their "inside knowledge" which corrupted. They are able to find these weak ones in this board.

Of course, it does not help that faithful witnesses such as Ted, myself and others come into this forum and read all the diceatful postings. By falsely using "Jehovahs witness" they try to trap faithful ones. We must be cautious. No matter what we say, they will not listen. If Jesus, himself showed up, they would not listen. We must leave it in Jehovah's hands, and he will handle things appropiately.

dear carley.

i just thought i would give you this card on this very important day to let you know my feelings about your decesion.. first of all i want you to know that i am very,very, proud that you have made a choice in your life to be a person of good clean moral standards and a person that has a regard for there creator and one that wants to be respected and looked up to.

that makes dad very proud.. you are probally wondering why i no longer go to meetings with the family and no longer speak of spiritual things.

Congratulations on a very wise daughter. You should follow her example and make amends with our father, Jehovah. It would be a shame for your daughter to live in the new system without you. No one should sacrifice their child because of his/her own pride, and unfounded doubts.

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I do not use the internet at home on weekends, only from work that is why I have not answered any posts. I sit in front of a computer 9 hours a day and just don't want to see one during the weekend.

Anyway, interesting comment on Armageddon. VeniceIT, i think in a sence you are right about Har-mageddon as used in Revelations. I thought the same thing, but then I think, how can all governments be gathered in one place? that is if it's literal, so maybe it's symbolic. Either way it, whether it's at one place or all over earth, it will mean the destruction of all human-made governments.

willy_think: I think you are mistaken on your analysis. The prophesy at Joel also describes a literal destruction of all those opposing Jehovah God and his kingdom. Also, if we compare our days to those of Noah, that was a literal destruction also.

JW Boyfriend is being brainwashed !

my boyfriend and i live together and have been for about 3 years.. he wants me to convert, after research i will not.

(i was raised bapstist) he hasnt went to the hall in two weeks, last nite he went because a "elder" called him, why did they have him in a meeting till.

11 at nite, he came home and told me he confessed and he is in trouble.

How is saying that "fornication is a sin" judgemental? It's very clear what Jehovah's laws are. Even Baptists read the Bible and know that God does not approve fornication. It might be true that he is just using excuses to live together with you and not taking the responsability of marriage, but the fact remains. Fornication is condemned. Galatians 6:5.
