a really big thankyou.. as having being brought up as a jw, and believing all that sprouted from bethel as fact, there is no doubt this discussion board has speeded up my awakening as well as many other sources and experiances.
i have tended to take a lot from this site, and not give much feedback or my experiances as an jw, which i would like to change.

One of the many, whoom comments make so much sense. I really am past the stage of needing those who are my friends because of birth in ones Religion. It does hurt none the less that there is a good chance many I consider friends may now turn against me. It is my parents i realy feel for when news hits them from the jw or myself soon.

As having being brought up as a JW, and believing all that sprouted from Bethel as fact, there is no doubt this discussion board has speeded up my awakening as well as many other sources and experiances. I have tended to take a lot from this site, and not give much feedback or my experiances as an Jw, which I would like to change. I intend as of next week to write up a little as to what has happened in my jw world. As a brother in good standing who has just had his picture taken for local papers, performing in the local kirk "The Passion" ( In which I played Caiaphas, feels good being the baddy, hehe) I wonder what the body of elders will do? However, due to many comments here and books ( nonetheless the bible) read, I no longer care or worry. Was just a quick thank you.

by AllTimeJeff ini wonder if the governing body (gb) knows the trouble the whole thing started..... to be sure, when the gb put into effect that all congregations of jehovah's witnesses were to have a body of elders that is in existence today, their goal was to meet their own ends.
under a sub heading "gearing up for explosive growth" in their history book "jehovah's witnesses - proclaimers of god's kingdom" they stated..... ***.
jehovahs servants were determined to continue to yield to divine direction.

Perth Kinnoull 1995. I forgot that story. Everyone it seemed was talking about that scandal in our hall. So much for a spiritual paradise! I was only about 17 when it happened and anout that time an MS in our hall had just punched me after a football match. ( my skill was truly brillant, hehe) I was told by elders to drop the matter and forget about it, as this was not good for the unity of the hall and could escalate into divisions e.c.t. Of course I obeyed. I truly thought all these stories and happenings were a sign that Satan was raging a war against us witnesses to break us. Doh!

UK Kingdom halls situated in terrible areas
by excito-are inas some one who who has travelled britian well, i must make known an observation.
almost all kingdom halls are in really bad areas.
fron travelling around scotland i see in edinburgh, glasgow, kilbrinie, bellshill , hamilton, kirkcaldy, glenrothes, methil, dundee, aberdeen, inverness, the halls are in a terrible place where unemployment is rife, drug taking common place and just downright poverty and crime is seen.

As some one who who has travelled Britian well, I must make known an observation. Almost all Kingdom halls are in really bad areas. Is this a policy where KH are set up in areas where witnesses arrive and leave seeing the depths of society living and interpret it as the world being in such a bad state? What is it like elsewhere around the ~World?

When I was about 12 years old, I was not allowed to watch the t.v series Quantum leap. (strict household) The c.o stayed with us one time and asked if he could watch it, after we were all back from a meeting. Well, this was almost God himself saying, " Thou shall be able to watch Quantum leap". Every Tues evening thereinafter, I was able to watch it. I thought our c.o was the coolest man about.
Hey, who needs the salvation of christ anyway, when you have the c.o's.

The point of Jesus being fully human and experiancing the full blows of being betrayed by best friends, humilated, oppressed, tortured is that God takes all that is human experiance to know man to and then enable man to get to know God. In essance taking what is ours so we might have what is his. This is the first time I had come across this information. Not sure if any of you had read any on this?
