  i was out hiking in the woods of northern california in the late 80's with a good friend.

  at that time, i thought it was cool to just sleep under the stars and enjoy the outdoor experience to the full.

  one night, while camping at a lake that was far up in the mountains and had no one else there, but the two of us (was not a broke back mountain moment, sorry to those who might have wondered .

  what can you, my friends recommend as a first bible for an adult male?

  to be specific, my brother.

  i've got about 10 jw bibles, but don't know if one of those would be appropriate..

  A study Bible with two or more translations is best. The KJV is easier to memorize, in most cases, and is good no matter what church you go to. With the side by side translations there would be little room for him to not get the basic meaning. A good modern translation is the NASB. It's so good my brother in law used it to cheat in latin and greek class.

  I was unable to complete college when I was young due to my Dad having a stroke. I had to help with a failing family buisness. When everything finally leveled off I was married and working in construction. Without college my choices of employment were limited. College gives you choices. Cults don't want you to have much education or choices. Your too hard to fool or control.

  I hope your'e starting to see people care. We may all have differences but we're united in the fact that we don't want to see you hurt. I may have never found a gold nugget, but that doesn't mean there's none out there. Just keep trying. You will find love, truth, a better day, whatever you need. Just please keep digging.

  i posed this question on another thread... namely burns and hooberus...wouldn't answer, so i thought i'd ask it again in an open thread..., .

  you on the right disagree with roe v wade... so that means that you want to redefine when a zygote, embryo, or a fetus has what anyone would rule for lack of better words "the right to life"... .

  exactly when is life, human as per your definition?

  My opinion on the law used to be absolutely no abortion for any reason. Recently I have come to see that that is how I would feel concerning my personal life, but there are so many hypotheticals I don't think I could make that decision for another person's situation. I would never do anything to support it, but I won't be blowing up any clinics either. You have a Christian point of veiw ( devided ) and a secular point of veiw ( devided also ). I can only, as a Christian, do what I think is best concerning God's will. Other points of veiw will make their choices based on what they think. Popular opinion ( through representation ) will rule. This is unfortunate to all opinions that want their way to be the only way. As long as this republic stands it has potential to swing back and forth.
