"OUR BIBLE NEVER CHANGES" !
by hubert inthis is what i've been told by my j.w.
sister-in-law.. my question.....are there any verses that have been changed in their bible from one revision/edition to the next?
if so, which verses?

I've been told there are 28 verses left out of the N.I.V. and that the same ones were left out of J.W. versions. A friend of mine owns a used book store that specializes in religious books and Bibles. He has an old Bible with verses crossed out. He said it was a J.W. bible from when they first got going. The same verses are missing from the N.I.V. Most of the crossed out verses deal with the deity of Jesus. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? I'm not stating opinion, I'm just curious about the subject.

Update- My Wife shows worse signs of Mental Illness! I feel lost!
by Witness 007 in{this is in support of easyreader and his story} my wife hurt her back at work 6 months ago and since......................................... my wife switches from periods of reasonable happiness where we can talk and do things together....to intense rages breaking dishes....to sadness....to laughing at nothing in particular??
{i hate that the most} she is distant at times and has a short concentration span....she watched a one hour documentary for 2 hours since she continues to rewind sections...she leaves lights on all night and loses things.....these are just afew things.
she refuses treatment so don't ask.

I agree with Yknot, do whatever it takes to get her help. I work in a mental health hospital and I can tell you right now it is only a matter of time before someone gets hurt. It's for her own good. What would you want her to do if it was you?

Life begins at conception?
by Gladring ini've been enjoying questioning long held beliefs lately.
one issue i've been pondering is the life of the unborn.
this has been brought on by a couple of things.. sam harris in end of faith and letter to a christian nation discusses the moral implications of stem cell research and this has been discussed in the media lately too.

The law of sewing and reaping is very prevalent in the scriptures. From this I have come to this conclusion: If I plant a seed in the ground, and nothing natural goes wrong, that seed will become a plant. If I plant a seed in the ground and then go back and dig it up before it sprouts and crush it, it will not become a plant. I believe when a man plants his seed in a womans egg and then later returns to destroy it he has interfeared or stopped that life. Murder is "unlawfully" ending a persons life. If your moral absolute is man made law than what difference does it make when life begins? Abortion is leagal, so by man's definition it's not murder. I'm stickin' to the law of sewing and reaping.

I was working night shift and my wife came home at lunch to wake me. She finished eating and walked out the door. Almost immediatly there was a knock at the door. Thinking it was was my wife, and that she had forgotten something, I swung the door open suddenly and said with a loud voice and a big smile "Did ya miss me baby?" Needless to say it wasn't my wife, it was two ladies from the J.W. and all I had on was that smile. I don't think I've ever seen anybody move so fast in my life! They didn't even go to the rest of the neighborhood. Since then they have left all literature rolled up and stuck in my fence by the road. This was about a year ago.

Wanting to date, but
by Junction-Guy inwell first off, i am mostly happy being single.
i don't have this big desire to get married again, in fact i am kind of commitment shy now, and don't know how i ever would be able to function in a relationship again.
but there are certain events and certain times of the year when i feel alone and would like a date.

It may be time for a new philosopy. Instead of dating just try a little more social activity. Most of all be open and let your friends know how you feel. They may invite you over for dinner when their single friend stops by. I had a friend that lost his wife. After he came out of mourning he just started asking everybody he knew if they knew anybody that was looking for a "good man". Needless to say he had very little time to be lonely after that. He's happily married again.

Has the WTBS ever explained the trinity?
by wobble inif i were going to comment on a deep philosophical doctrine, i would first outline what that doctrine was,has the wtbs ever dne this properly with the trinity?
from memory they have only ever reasoned at the level"one plus one plus one = 3, not one" type of argument, and odd references to trinities in pagandom.. surely a college education would be of benefit to them so they know how to present a thesis?.
love.

Aren't three persons thee personalities? I myself am a father but that is not my name. I am also a son, that again is not my name. I also have a spirit (personality). I'm not trying to argue, I just don't see three different people. In the book of John chapter 14 He sums it all up. Verse 9: He reveals who they have been looking at all along. Verse 16: He says the Father will send a comforter. Verse 18: He says who the comforter is. Verse 20: sums it all up. Verse 21: Shows who He will reveal this to. I think the pysical body of Jesus is what confuses most people. The reason most Christian Jews I know had a problem with Christianity at first is because they thought we were trying to sell them three gods. They consider that to paganism. James 2:19 changed their minds.
