  i was wondering what to say to the elder after i complained about a brother that did me very wrongly and he said do not worry about him, he told me only to focus on my spiritual health.

  Spies...How Would You Know?

  with the talk lately of the bone pointers snooping on facebook, etc....and the fact that they do sniff out this board.... do you think they actually register and participate here...or just read and try to figure out locations, familiar sounding scenerios, etc.

  to try to pinpoint people?.

  do you think any of these snoops have ever blended in as "one of the gang" to lure information from people?.

  When i first got on this board, I kind of wondered along the same lines. After being here for a while, I think it is just too vast for someone to come here and "find" someone at will. Anyone coming here to do such a thing, would have to spend a considerable amount of time "searching" and in the process their whole "Witness World" would have to fall apart I'd imagine. The higher up you are in the "chain" though, the easier I would imagine it to be to get caught. There are a lot more R&F members to wade through than Bethel members or Overseers.

  Where did you get "Bone Pointer" from Cam?

  Right you are BTS. I thought about this thread just yesterday while I was grocery shopping as I needed sugar. I have been buying cane sugar for about a year now, as your body is able to break it down better than refined white sugar.

  I believe cane juice sugar is better for baking too...its much more fine than regular cane sugar.

  Can you buy cane juice BTS? I would have guessed drinking guarpo to be sickly sweet! How much would you drink at a time?

  Silentone - In case you didn't know, Jones soda's have cane sugar in them. Their really tasty!

  How did/do you break the "thinking" chain?

  one thing about being an active jdub is that you are never encouraged to actually think.

  sure you think your thinking, but once your out, and start asking some questions that you never even considered before, it becomes apparent that you weren't.

  it becomes clear that we were indeed "conditioned".. decades of sitting in a chair listening to the same thing, over and over again.

  One thing about being an active Jdub is that you are never encouraged to actually think. Sure you THINK your thinking, but once your out, and start asking some questions that you never even considered before, it becomes apparent that you weren't. It becomes clear that we were indeed "conditioned".

  Decades of sitting in a chair listening to the SAME thing, over and over again. Eating it up as "new". THINKING about the same shit over and over again, and saying those same things to reinforce it. Not thinking efficiently, and not even REALLY THINKING!

  How did you break free from this once and for all? Take away the religious indoctrination, and your still left with your thoughts and your WAY of thinking. I'm thinking that the longer your "in", and especially from a young age when your thought processes are being formed, the harder it is to break free from.

  I guess this is all part of the process of "getting to know myself", and I find I am captive to this scenario of being analytical, but not expanding my thoughts to think "forward". I often rehash the same thoughts in everyday life and recognize it as being pointless more often than not. It's a tough one to break.

  Can you relate? Any suggestions and comments here would be most welcome.

  Did you know JW's who worked in SALES?

  the brothers and sisters that i knew that worked in sales did great in the congregation.

  their presentations, their talks, their knowledge of all the publications, they were really on top of things.

  those that worked in other fields sometimes really struggled at placing literature and in getting studies.. one brother in my hall used to have special sessions with those that wanted to improve their presentation.

  Interesting Quirky.

  In as long as I have been on this board, I have been inpsired to make actualy changes in life. One of those things - my career. I went for 2 Job interviews yesterday and they are both outside sales positions.

  What do ya sell Quirk? Ice cream? :p

  I have an extremely hard time with the first 2 pics. Are they BOTH supposed to be Heather Locklear?! There is NO WAY the first one could possibly be her. If I am living in denial with this observation, I think I will just choose to stay here. I always figured her as one of ones with the most natural beauty out of the bunch.

  It's impossible to make Katherine Heigl look anything less than beautiful, cause that she is. Uma too.

  Poor Farrah and her cancer troubles. The second photo looks as though perhaps she is getting out of cancer treatment? Perhaps a milk bone would liven her up? She was tops in her hey day though.

  About 10 years ago, I shunned a friend of mine in typical witness fashion. I can;t remember EXACTLY how I did it, but I leveled some sort of criticism towards him for the way he "wasn't". He defended himself saying that he believed god would judge his heart, and I can still remember how unmoved I was by this. Immediate dismissal.

  We did see each other here and there - and we even talked a bit, as he was a pretty cool guy. He died 2 years ago while he was at work from a brain aneurism. If he was with us today, I would definitely be giving him a formal apology. No one- especially a friend, deserves to be treated like that.
