"Cleaning up the Organization"
I have said it tons, but when it comes down to actually explaining it, I'm searching for words.
Yknott touched on it with "Getting rid of anyone who isn't in unity with the Bible truths as taught by Jehovah's Witnesses" , but I think it can be elaborated on a bit more.
"Cleaning up" is the important part. It could be applied to the organization, a congregation, or even a group of individuals.
Essentially, I think it would be filtering out people that conform the least to what the Watchtower teaches. If a Witness has some "wordly traits", but doesn't do anything to get disfellowshipped, there is something "different" about them in the eyes of a JW. They will get various titles too. "spiritually weak" etc etc.
For example, if there was someone who was told they had to leave the Bethel due to the downsizing. If that person was "spiritually strong" in many ways, but had a tendancy to gossip, it may be viwed as "cleaning up" the Bethel, by them not being there to gossip with other brothers and sisters. It would make the Bethel "stronger" by not having that influence there.
something like that....I hope that helps.

ok, i am seriously on the verge of crying, but i think i'll be ok. my first emotion is being totally pissed off, but the root is sadness.
i threw my husband his first birthday party, a surprise at that.. it's his first ever birthday party, and it was his 25th....a biggie.
so why the f&*% didnt people show?
Sorry bout the bad run Homeschool...Its good you feel better after sleeping on it.
10 people still showed and thats awsome! I totally understand where your coming from though, after all it is his first birthday party. Lots of "worldly" people are often unable to grasp the concept of how important something like this actually is.
Sooooooo, what did ya get your man? How late did it go? Did everyone drink a little too much? Cake. Did you make it? (lol) What did all 12 of you get up to?
In hindsight, perhaps it was a good thing many of those other peeps never showed....it's nice to be able to filter out your freinds sometimes. As much as it may hurt, it's nice to know where you stand.

alot of recent posts have admireably focused on the plight of ex-bethelites kicked out to the curb without adequate educational, economical and financial support from the wts.
admitedly, many have spent a sizeable portion of their lives serving this selfish organisation until they were shocked with a one way ticket.
my questions are: what are ideas to help them achieve a 'soft landing' outside the wts?
It seems as though they are trying to figure things out over in New York. Point taken ATJ, ty.
I guess if I put myself in the shoes of a Bethelite, I would be pretty upset too, especially if it were my prime years. Being "thrown out' of Bethel, and to make things even worse, being thrown out into this economy, I would be bitter too.
Then you have the ones in Bethel still. you can IMAGINE the little gossip sessions going on with the decisions about who goes and who stays.
Edit: best not get to far off topic.
I guess one has to hope they learned something at Bethel, enough for them to be able to practice it in the "real world".

are learning the hard way how trustworthy the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses really are.
Is it really a matter of "trustworthiness" though? I'm definitely not definding the GB either, donlt get me wrong. Brothers and sisters "volunteered", it not as though there was a postition to be filled, with the expected outcome of being looked after for life, or was there?
What percentage of Bethelites are going to go as far as questioning teachings as a result of having to leave? Witnesses will just say they never had the right "heart condition" to begin with, so it's better off they left. Watch all this be misconstrued to "Jehovah cleaning the oraganization".

All were doing is knockin on peoples doors...
Knock-knock-knockin' on peoples doors, hey hey hey hey yeah
Knock-knock-knockin' on peoples doors
Knock-knock-knockin' on peoples doors, ohhh yeah
Knock-knock-knockin' on peoples doors, hey hey yeahhh
Ohhhhhhh yeah yeah
Ohhhh yeah yeah
Brothers take these 2 hours from me, ( yeah just this month)
I can't put in anymore...
and when the CO is comin' round...
I'll take that time to put in more...
Cause all it feels like is..we're
Knock-knock-knockin' on peoples doors
Knock-knock-stalkin' on peoples doors, hey hey ya
KNock-knock-knockin on peoples doors, ohhhh yeah
Knock-knock-stalkin' on peoples doors, hey hey yeahhhh
"You better start sniffing' your own
Rank subjugation brothers 'cause it's just you
Against the apostate scum, the world
And Satan, forever brothers and it wouldn't
Be luck if you make it to the New System alive "
