The Shelly Kagan vs. William Lane Craig debate on morality
by bohm inthis the most interesting wlc debate i have seen, it is confined to the subject: "can morality exist without god" and wlc seemed quite off balance at several times.
wlc went after kagan with his usual set of objections, paraphrasing from memory:.
without god there can be no objective standard of moralitywithout god there is no accountability and the universe eventually burn out, hence why does it matter we behave morally?what is the moral thing to do and what is the beneficial thing to do for the individual is often at odds, in the absence of god, why choose the moral thing?and so on.

Advantages of Using Whole Blood
by jabberwock inearlier this evening, i caught an interesting story on npr about some of the advances made by medical personnel working in iraq and afghanistan.
one such advance had to do with the benefits of using whole blood, particularly when used instead of saline to keep blood pressure up.
i thought i would share it with everyone here.. .

DMCA Complaint from The WatchTower for links to KS-10 'Shepherding' book
by Simon inyes, that's right, they really do not like people being able to read that book so they wanted links to it removed (it appears they have also been going after the hosts of the content itself as well).. unfortunately, i had to removed the links (which were dead anyway when i checked) and i'd ask that people don't re-post them (sorry).
i'm sure there are lots of alternative ways for those with the information to get it to those who need it.. here are the discussions on the book:.

Has the WTS removed the 'offending' publications? Or just retired them due to time?
by AK - Jeff ini seem to recall the earlier versions of watchtower cd-rom containing books from the 50's and 60's [life everlasting in the freedom of the son's of god - babylon the great has fallen - etc].
i have no cd predating 2001 now in my possession - and looked at that one today doing research, finding that virtually nothing pre-1970 is there [except the revised/altered 'truth' book].. is my memory faulty on this?
could it be that they just 'retired' the older pubs innocently?
